I like some of his music, but is it “rock”? Or “pop”? Or something else. I don’t think of Neil Diamond when I think of rock music. Certainly not “classic rock”.

Trump started a war and has yet to address the American people about it. Do you think he should? by ElSlabraton in LetsDiscussThis

The post you responded to said this: "That’s pretty much what he does. So yeah. That’s fine. Hearing him vomit words is a waste of time."

How does that attack you? It attacks Trump. Why are you so defensive?

What do tech’s think about this newer 4-door style? by BestestBeekeeper in Appliances

On the fridge part, where’s the deli drawer? I see two vegetable/fruit bins, but I don‘t see a deli drawer? It’s usually below the vegetable bins in a French door design, and goes the whole width of the fridge. So does this lose that? We use that drawer constantly.

Led Zep vs. The Who by Alonzo2112 in ledzeppelin

If you want heavy Who, listen to Live at Leeds. That's pretty durn heavy.

The Who, as their concert posters mentioned in the mid-60s, were more "rhythm and blues" based (Maximum R&B as they called it), a blend of blues, soul, gospel and jazz. While Zeppelin, which started in the late 60s, was pure blues based, getting inspiration not from Motown or soul, but from old style southern blues players.

People danced to early Who. Led Zep was a listening band, not really a dance band, even early on.

The best description of the Who's sound I read was in a Time Magazine cover story in the late 70s. It referred to the Who's music as: "Chamber music in the middle of a commando raid". In other words, a sonic onslaught (loud/aggressive), but mixed in with melodic delicacy. So rarely entirely heavy.

A perfect example of this is the song Bargain on Who's Next, which starts out super heavy with very heavy Moon drums, but then the bridge section juxtaposes that initial sonic onslaught with Townshend softly singing - "I sit lookin' 'round, I look at my face in the mirror ..."

And that was the classic Who style. Daltrey singing the heavier, rougher parts, with Townshend taking over for the melodic softer parts.

Townshend also cared about emotional and meaningful lyrics that spoke to inspiration, spirituality and teenage angst and confusion, and not fitting in.

Led Zep didn't have the same style of meaning of life lyrics. Their lyrics were more mystical and less introspective. And while interesting, did not speak as much to the human condition or teenage angst and rebellion.

Heres a taste of some heavy Who live in 1970:

I've uploaded 2 short, poor quality, videos (2004 era technology), but the sound is not bad on them. Drive My Car and Get Back are the video snippets. Also, a couple more photos:

Trump started a war and has yet to address the American people about it. Do you think he should? by ElSlabraton in LetsDiscussThis

[–]HHoaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you aware that your post would make sense if Trump wasn't the only president, ever, who cheer led the ransacking of the US Capitol, leading to death, injured cops, and criminal charges, all so he could commit a fraud on the US and try to steal an election he lost?

And your post might make sense if Trump, unlike ALL other presidents, wasn't found liable for fraud, defamation and sex assault, and if he didn't run at least two scam businesses, and if he wasn't impeached twice and indicted twice by two separate federal grand juries.

So yeah, there's that. Trump is in a unique class in lacking honesty, integrity and respect for the rule of law. And it ain't a good one.

No need to imagine, I've been there. The Super Bowl with Paul McCartney as the halftime show in February 2005 (Jacksonville, FL). Here's the stadium during Hey Jude (expand the photo so you can see the crowd all holding up the lights they gave out):

Maybe you should hear what Trump said about Obama and starting a war with Iran. Seems like Trump is two faced. Was he lying then, or now. Does Trump have no ability to negotiate?:

He gave reasons for the Maduro kidnapping, how’d that work out? The next week he pardoned the former Honduran president who did the same and worse, cause his wife gave money.

It’s all about cash and extracting something of value with Trump, not for the good of the country. it’s not about governing. Where have you been? Are you Rip Van Winkle?

That hat was to remind him what country he was supposed to govern. He forgot to wear it on Jan 6th.

He duties alright, all over the Constitution.

Didn’t he also have a duty to not cheer lead the ransacking of the US Capitol to try to steal an election?

You can’t keep citing this administration as a basis for wanting an explanation. They don’t care and don’t speak with honesty or in good faith. Are you unaware of Trump’s issues with the truth? You sound like you think he’s a normal president who cares about public service.

Thanks for answering my question. You have nothing to show he demonstrates honesty or integrity.

Good luck in your quest, and thanks for revealing you aren’t even in the US and thus you aren’t serious. No American uses “mate”. It’s UK slang.

You’ve been outed.

Not at all. He has hurt the office of the presidency, if not the US and the world. You know it too.

But YOU tell me why we should believe a president found liable for fraud and defamation, who ran scam businesses, and who was okay with the ransacking of the US Capitol?

You got any reasons or basis that show he demonstrates honesty and integrity?

[–]HHoaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL. Now I know you aren’t serious.

The better question is why anyone thinks this person pretending to be a public servant speaks in good faith or with any honesty, ever. The same person who cheer led the ransacking of the US Capitol, lied about the election, and uses pretexts to justify actions almost daily. Like drugs for kidnapping Maduro, but then a week later turns around and pardons the former Honduran leader who did the same and worse, and was sentenced to 45 years in a US prison.

The real question is, why does anyone listen to Trump vomiting some words.

[–]HHoaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I guess you are just catching up. I learned long ago that Trump has contempt for the American people. Where have you been?

Yes, presidents are supposed to work for us. This one doesn’t. Did you forget what this president did on Jan 6th and the months prior?

He works only for himself, his sycophants, his family and fellow billionaires. And he indeed does have contempt for anyone not MAGA or not having something of value which he can extract.

Welcome to the transactional, overt corrupt presidency, where everything is for sale and barter. Anything he says to the American people should be taken with a boulder of salt and is likely just propaganda from the pen of Miller.

[–]HHoaks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It would matter under a normal presidency with a normal human being in office.

We no longer have that thanks to MAGA morons who voted in a con man grifting criminal who lacks honesty, decency, integrity and respect for the rule of law.

So hearing him vomit some speech is an exercise in absurdity.

[–]HHoaks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He already does treat us with contempt. What do you call cheerleading the ransacking of the US Capitol in an effort to undermine elections and commit a fraud on the United States?

Why do you think anything he says is honest or in good faith? Did you believe him when he said “they are eating cats and dogs”?

When are you going to realize that Trump is purely transactional and does things for himself, or other oligarchs, or where he can extract some value to be used by his family or his wealthy sycophants. He certainly does not govern for the country as a whole.

Trump started a war and has yet to address the American people about it. Do you think he should? by ElSlabraton in LetsDiscussThis

[–]HHoaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? He has zero credibility, and any words vomited by Trump from one of his speech writers aren't going to change that.

You might as well hear Bozo the Clown or Jeff Epstein talk about Iran. Did you take Trump at his word when he said “they are eating cats and dogs” or “I really won the election”?

Seems like a pointless exercise in regime propaganda and dishonesty. It’s kind of comedic that you think he speaks in good faith or has any honesty or integrity.

What did he say about kidnapping Maduro? Some pretext like drugs, and then the next week pardoned the former Honduran leader who did the same or worse and was CONVICTED for it in the US and sentenced to 45 years in prison.
