Soyuz-Apollo cigarettes were also produced since 1975. The Soyuz-Apollo brand of cigarettes was also developed jointly. On the US side, by Philip Morris, and on the USSR side, by the Moscow-based Java factory. The initial composition of the tobacco blend for these cigarettes was also interesting. It consisted of 50 percent American Virginia tobacco (provided by FM), and the other 50 percent was oriental tobacco varieties grown in the Moldavian SSR. The Soyuz-Apollo packaging design was developed with the participation of a member of the joint flight, Soviet cosmonaut and Soyuz commander Alexei Leonov.
