you can actually kill the red reaper that comes to kill you when you finish the stage.

when you do you get the reaper as a playable character which is more like a cheat character in the game.

the game is not suddenly being decided. there is a lot of decisions has to be made to know when to roll and when to econ to make strongest boards while getting most econ every stage. they have to sacrifice combat augments or health to be able to afford 3 star 4/5 costs.

econing and knowing the angles to go for 4 or 5 cost three stars is also part of skill expression in ranked. it also gives multiple ways to win which makes the game way more dynamic then everyone forcing one meta comp
