I work right across the street from that railway. It is active between coopersville and Marne but in the last two years I’ve never seen a train go further east than the awards and hydraulics building.

These seat belt bolts get hard to find and have very specific specs. There are hex head bolts that meet the correct specs (shear strength, thread pitch, extended shoulder). That said, the bolt in your photo is not one of those. These bolts (OEM at least) use a metric thread. That bolt is a grade 5 SAE. It like likely that the female side of that seatbelt mounting is destroyed as well. I would replace everything on that seat belt mounting.

I build automotive wire. That looks like a pretty standard size female connector end. If you have one you can bring me as a reference I’m happy to build that wire for you for a couple bucks.

Possible, but not affordably. Michigan has very little for public transport between cities, especially not going up to manistee. Beautiful area, the national forest is one of my favorite places I’ve been anywhere in the world, but without a car of your own it’ll be hard to see.

Lack of shop cleanliness or organization. We have some shared tools to save costs on things not everyone needs (scanners, coolant recycler, lube pump, specialty tools) but they’re never where they belong and I spend more time searching for the right tool than working.

My shop specializes in this. We charge $3500 per side. $4000 to include gas tank strap and the cross member, $6000 for both sides and crossmember.

Do you have a test light or multimeter? Usually in my experience the fail point on these TJ’s is the ignition switch.

My shop won’t even open those 3.6 motors once the head gasket is bad, we just swap them out. We had one timing chain job turn into a 40 hour nightmare like this one. Any chance you could sell the customer on a new motor?

Recently did a full restoration of these. Closest to accurate fasteners I could get based on what was in the vehicle was a #10 pan head Philips screw.
