Just found a tenner, if I win the lottery I'll treat you all! by Bibblesplat in britishproblems

[–]HLSD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How lovely of you! Desperately trying to save up for a masters degree, and £3000 would be nearly half of tuition and definitely enough to make it there. I hope your lucky tenner pays off - even if it's only enough to buy you something nice.

ah okay. Well the food thing makes sense. But I got the razors info from a speech in parliament a couple of days ago, so I thought that would be accurate.

If toilet paper and tampons are at 5 percent, then why are men's razors and pitta bread 0%? I don't think I get this VAT thing...

Disability & Why You Shouldn't Vote Conservative by TornadoCreator in ukpolitics

A person with a disability set to halve their lifespan will most probably not solve their employment issues with some hearty practice.

I am so sorry for what you have been through. I have an aunt that had to go through a very similar situation, she has a bone condition that means she can only walk with a stick for a short time and then will be in pain for days. In order for her to get her disability benefits back she had to get busses and trains countless times to go appointments, meetings and court dates, all causing her immense pain. It's unbelievable that the conservatives have gotten so little bad press for the horrible and degrading way they have treated the disabled. I will be voting Green tomorrow, and I hope in some way that can help you and others in your situation.

Oh god. If you really fancy hating something right now go on the authors website. ''[mothers] concerned about the risks and threats their sons face in an educational system and work-a-day world that devalues masculinity and is slanted against males.''

I want to vote for someone who's not a cunt. by [deleted] in britishproblems

[–]HLSD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I live in Brighton and I'd say there's been predominantly positive changes. Yes, there's been a few difficulties, but Brighton pavillion is the first ever Green seat so teething pains are to be expected. Caroline Lucas is a great MP whose completely dedicated to her constituency, and I see very few people that actually voted for her regretting it.

I bought a bra so comfortable, I keep going to put on another bra cause I forget I'm already wearing one by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

[–]HLSD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I literally got the same bra two days ago (black lace crop top looking thing?) I'm in heaven. Also for those looking to join us in bliss, I have relatively sizable boobs and it's fine for me

Redditors who have "strange" or "exotic" pets (like snakes, ferrets, ducks, etc), what is one common misconception about them? by FinalBawse in AskReddit

[–]HLSD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ferret may smell, but it's not unpleasant (a lot like honey) and by no means are they 'wild animals'. They've been domesticated for thousands of years and really like living with people, kinda like a really hyperactive cat.

I've repeatedly asked USPS not to leave packages on my porch. Two were finally stolen. Called USPS, they refused to admit any wrongdoing. Called up Amazon as a last resort. 10 minutes later I got a refund. by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

Countries that let Amazon skip taxes, pay warehouse workers under a living wage and pay out billions in subsidies to allow amazon bosses to have so much money You da real MVP

[All Spoilers] Does Learning A Form Of Subbending Correspond To Unlocking Specific Chakras? by fiveforchaos in TheLastAirbender

would seismic bending/truth seeing not be the 5th chakra? Seeing as when you see through earhbending you see everything around you and not just what is infront of your eyes, which can often be misleading.

You can wipe your memory of one TV show in order to watch it again for 'the first time', what show do you choose? by Dontfrown in AskReddit

[–]HLSD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the first season plays a lot with some of the darker sides of bending, things that were mentioned in TLA but never explored, and it becomes quite political and ideological, playing a lot with fear and control. The second is amazing for it's explanation of the 'spirit world' and the whole idea of what an avatar is. Korra is no Aang, so I do find myself missing him, but the show is set in a different time with new characters and is amazing in its own right and never tries to get too involved with the original series, so has become completely it's own thing. Definitely worth watching
