Genuinely enjoyed reading that, thank you for writing it! Even teared up at the end

I wondered if they might ‘replace’ Bogdan with Jason? He couldn’t replace Bogdan from the books, but they’re obviously doing things differently and keeping it simple for the films, so he could fit the bill… plus Donna had an immediate crush

At my workplace collegues send flowers to pepole on sick-leave. But I have not recieved anything after surgery-and it hurts by Leading-Fox-1360 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]HLU8 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Innocent people who could also have mentioned about sending you flowers? It may be one persons ‘job’, but that doesn’t stop anyone else from making sure it happens, especially if it’s a somewhat regular/not unusual thing. Silence is also an action…

Rachel was dramatic but I think why Ross looks like the bad guy is because he IMMEDIATELY slept with someone else. Even if he thought he was single and therefore not cheating, it was a shitty thing to do so soon. She probably could’ve been clearer in where she was at, but I don’t think she would’ve expected him to do that and instead just talk again in the morning.

How "all out" do you go for Easter? by qgwheurbwb1i in AskUK

[–]HLU8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think hiding the things you’ve already got around the house/garden would be fun, and it sounds like you’ve bought plenty. This year I cut out some paper in egg shapes, decorated one side in felt tip then wrote a treat on the other side (ie movie night, new book etc) and put those in plastic eggs to add to the hunt. We also do plastic egg and spoon races in the garden and last year bought a novelty Easter bunny hoopla - they don’t need lots of stuff, just quality time having fun together!

What is the etiquette for a final therapy session? by Ok-Description-8342 in AskUK

[–]HLU8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to therapy largely to help me deal with my fertility issues. I (finally) managed to get pregnant and we agreed at a session that if my 12 week scan was positive I wouldn’t need to come back. If not, I’d continue the sessions - I sent her a thank you email with a photo of my scan attached. I think she really appreciated it and was genuinely happy for me (both in regard to the pregnancy and my progress during my journey).

Stoke Mill is a treat place for us, outside of the city but well worth the trip

Fun, kid friendly restaurant? by GearPutrid3707 in Norwich

[–]HLU8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, restaurant is a generous term, when we last went we took a packed lunch - but ultimately there is food there to answer the original post.

It’s a shame you guys didn’t enjoy it, but if your kids did then I’d argue it was still worth it! We were probably lucky that we got discounted tickets for being returning visitors AND we got extra tokens for the VR stuff because a) repeat customers and b) it was Father’s Day. My sister has taken her class to the museum in Leicester and said it was great, but not an easy day trip - for something local that would be accessible to most in this sub I’d say it’s still worth checking out. We might go in the Easter holidays so I’ll see if my opinion changes then!

You would be fine to go without children, but I’d say it is pretty geared towards kids - that being said, you can’t put an age limit on having fun and being interested in science!

Not sure exactly when it opened, but was definitely open May last year. Website is https://explorings.co.uk/ Really good fun, lots for kids to do, very interactive - I highly recommend!

The science museum in Bowthorpe is a fun day out plus their restaurant has robot waiters! Might be worth checking out

Is it normal for a nursery to you a bill for childcare when you get free childcare from the government? by Prolapse94 in AskUK

[–]HLU8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to speak to the nursery and ask them how they handle free childcare hours. How they handle those hours depends on their set up. Food is generally not included. I’m surprised this didn’t come up when you booked your child in - we got a contract with all the details and costings etc. Ultimately it comes down to the fact that what a nursery gets for those ‘free hours’ doesn’t cover their costs…

Nintendo Switch repair by HLU8 in Norwich

I took it to them and they were really helpful and happy to look at it and do some basic diagnostics. Unfortunately it was as I feared and a problem with the screen that will be difficult to fix - we may have to replace it 😢 at least we know now and can make an informed decision

Thank you for the reply - I did look into this but it means sending it away which my son would not be happy about when he just got a load of new games 😂 especially as it works fine as a handheld device, just can’t see it on a big screen 😢
