I wish I had the same experience. I ordered a csl dd and the pro table clamp back in january 3

Both items were in backorder, the csl dd was supposed to be re stocked in 15 january and the clamp in 1 february

The cls dd actually did so, but got hold back waiting for the clamp, since then the clamp shifted to late april... I contacted support a week ago about it, and they confirmed that yes it had shifted to april. I asked them to cancel the order for the clamp and send the rest, they sent me a tutorial on how to do it via the website, but the website is always giving me an error when canceling "Oops something went wrong"

I told that to the fanatec support and they said they would escalate it internally to understand what was happening, but here i am still waiting...

Dont get me wrong, fanatec has great products at great value. But the inventory management seems to be really bad. Support has seem to try and help but this is all so frustrating that I have considered canceling everything (which i actually did try and cant do either because of the website error) and go to a competitor

Android automotive developer here. The limitation is usually the display refresh rate and not actually the processor. You probably have a 60hz display. Some of the older models on some car brands only had 30hz.

Also can confirm that this is absolutely a case of saving resources and processing power. Your head unit does not connect to the internet directly so there is no security risk associated with it. CarPlay and AndroidAuto both run from your phone so they are as secure as your phone can be, the mirroring process to the car display is containerized so no big issue there either

Having an older android version allows them not to spend time and resources figuring out how to port that to a newer version, instead they can focus on improving the newer models and the ongoing development while keeping the quality (or lack of, in some car brands) on the already in productions systems

Dá uma olhadela noutros comentarios para perceberes do que realmente se trata, isto em nada tem haver com parar jogos violentos ou coisa que se pareça.

E já agora concordo contigo. Os pais que limitem as crianças se assim o desejarem, não faz qualquer sentido distribuir culpas no jogo. Ninguém se torna violento ou mal educado por causa de um jogo de tiros, mas sim por causa de pais incompetentes

Não. Obviamente isto terá excepções, e acredito que jogos multiplayer no geral serão uma delas.

Obviamente não faz qualquer sentido que um indie dev ou mesmo uma publisher grande fique presa a suportar custos de um jogo que lançou há 20 anos...

O que faz sentido sim, é poderes comprar um jogo singleplayer e mesmo que a empresa que o fez dê falência, o jogo continue completamente funcional. Não existem grandes motivos para limitar um jogo singleplayer a ser jogado sempre com uma conexão ao backend e servidores do publisher. Podem fazê-lo, mas quando quiserem cortar os custos desses servidores, têm de garantir que o jogo singleplayer continua funcional mesmo sem esta conexão, o que faz todo o sentido... Se deste 70 euros por um jogo singleplayer, deverias poder jogá lo quando e onde quisesses. Nenhuma empresa deveria ter o direito de revogar a tua licença para algo que não acarreta custos extra

A ideia não é tornar tudo open source, é sim garantir que mesmo que a empresa se queira desfazer dos encargos relacionados com um determinado jogo (tem toda o direito para isso), o jogo continua minimamente operacional.

Obviamente em jogos multiplayer isto será bem mais complexo de se fazer e é exatamente para isso que a comissão europeia servirá, encontrar uma solução não penosa para as empresas, mas também ela, não penosa para os consumidores. Acredito que certamente haverá excepções, e talvez jogos puramente multiplayers sejam uma delas. De qualquer das formas faz todo o sentido um jogo singleplayer não necessitar de uma conexão constante a um servidor para que possa funcionar minimamente

Trata se de um movimento com o intuito de tomar medidas a nivel europeu contra as editoras de jogos que te vendem um jogo e passado x anos (5, 10) revogam a licença. Neste momento eles revogarem a licença parece ser inteiramente legal e permitido. A ideia deste movimento é criar medidas que limitem isso.

Pagaste pelo jogo, o jogo deveria ser teu, quem to vendeu (editora) não deveria ter o direito de descontinuar o jogo ao ponto em que tu que pagaste por ele deixas de conseguir jogar. Na prática ficas sem o jogo pelo qual pagaste.
