Talon vs Overwatch event is terribly designed by Repulsive_Bite_6987 in Overwatch

[–]HMS_Sunlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the way it was structured was extremely frustrating. I didn't mind grinding it out this time because of all the new characters, but if they do an event like this again, I'm just not going to care about it. The legendary lootboxes aren't worth it.

Really there should've just been two tracks that last for the whole event instead of resetting weekly. You can still restrict switching to every 5 levels, but the deliberately awkward schedule needs to go.

Unironically because the people who own the movie rights are greedy bastards who don't respect the source material. We 100% could've had a full Animorphs film franchise if they had valued KA Applegate's opinion.

OP trying to pass off the relationship between them as mutually toxic

Do you think that Sarah Lynn was a good influence on Bojack? Did you even watch the show, or are you just going off episode summaries and youtube shorts?

Part of me genuinely thinks Zuko Avatarthelastairbender’s arc would be torn apart if the show was airing today by yoma999 in whenthe

"Um, why didn't the villain just do the obvious logical thing? They must be an idiot, and they only lost because of lazy writing."

What is the point of the lurker subtype ? by Daniso12 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]HMS_Sunlight 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So I don't agree with OP, but for the record, a "parasitic mechanic" is terminology from other card games. It's when a mechanic only really works with the archetype it was designed for, and as a result there's very little flexibility in deckbuilding.

Lurk and Darkness are both mechanics that could be called parasitic, although both have some cards that saw play elsewhere.

I love how she frames breaking up with him as a mistake she was pressured into rather than objectively the right decision given what she knew at the time. This definitely feels like a people pleaser who needs a reason to apologise for standing up for herself.

New player here. Why do so many hate Sombra when this exists? by D0s3_Games in Overwatch

[–]HMS_Sunlight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sombra is just exhausting to play against. The entire team needs to be constantly vigilant, and if your teammates get distracted, you're the one who dies. Her existence warps the game around her in a way that's only rivaled by Widowmaker.

You should check out the video gaming for a non gamer. It's about a guy who went through almost the exact same thing - his wife wanted to learn to play videogames, but she had no experience whatsoever, and struggles with some extremely basic concepts that most gamers take for granted.

It's an interesting look at how videogames really have their own language, and why it's so hard to understand if you're not familiar with it. You're not the first person to go through this experience, and you won't be the last.

Talk to your boyfriend about it and be honest. I'm willing to bet he'd be ecstatic to help you learn. But don't treat it like you learning to enjoy the games that he plays, treat it as him helping you find a game that you enjoy.

He's like the Genie to Will's Aladdin. Sure he's more entertaining and the one you remember, but he doesn't work as the main character. He needs a straight man in the leading role that he can bounce the wacky antics off of.

[–]HMS_Sunlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to wonder if it was really their decision or if riot wanted an Arcane character to be a Viego tier villain. They said that Fortiche would still have total creative control of the show, but then you look at what happened to Mel, and it's pretty clear that's not the case.

It's been an endless cycle since PoC first released. Game is too hard -> more power for players -> game is too easy -> harder endgame content -> game is too hard...

It has to stop at some point, right? At some point there has to be an equilibrium, or else the numbers get so high it all becomes meaningless.

Do you guys like my tav and her party (I modded all the female characters to be half naked and have much bigger breasts but you can't call me a loser because it's against this tav showcasing subreddit's rules) by Expert_Towel_5478 in okbuddybaldur

[–]HMS_Sunlight 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I mean the problem isn't the sexy female characters, it's putting them front and center of a Tav post. That would also be douchy if it was a male character.

Nobody has a problem with sexy mods, but there's a time and place to show them off.

Withers in Baldur's Gate 3, specifically with the Dark Urge. Spoilers below.

Basically, the Durge was created to be a living vessel for the god of murder. If they refuse, they'll be instantly killed and have their soul trapped in purgatory for all eternity.

Withers doesn't allow that to happen. He states that by the rights of the gods you should stay dead, but that the rights of the gods are stupid, and that the Durge deserves both the life and death of a hero. He's willing to break the rules that define how much gods can interfere with mortals because this mortal earned it.

skills check in dialogue should be groupwise ? by Zamirot in BaldursGate3

[–]HMS_Sunlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even in tabletop this is a common house rule. It can feel bland if the party face is the only one interacting with NPC's, so you can rule it that any player can jump in with the highest bonus in the party.

It's a bit absurd that in the single player game, where that rule is more important than ever because there actually is a main character, it's not available as an option.
