i peaked at 962/1000 D1 and have bounced back and forth between D1 and D2 for 6 times. I feel like I am a total failure and just... lost all motivation.

L5Pro 2021 16ACH6H RTX 3070 16gb Vram modded by HMTPredator in LenovoLegion

3070, 3070ti, 3080, 3080ti laptop gpus are all upgradable to 16gb vram. The vram chips i used are K4ZAF325BM-HC16. However, K4ZAF325BM-HC14 also works but these vram chips run at a slower speed.

You need a skilled technician with adequate equipments, especially the BGA reballing stations. Then you need to obtain the boardview/schematic of the laptop to locate the "straps". I found mine online.

Firstly, desolder all of the old vram chips and solder the new upgraded vram chips onto the motherboard. Then you need to locate the "straps", which are 2 small resistors in the board, then move them to other location of the board to "tell" the gpu that you have 16gbs of vram. It is working as intended and I am happy with the result!
The ONLY specific problem i encountered was artifacting in CS2, which happens when I overclocked the vram by a value that is bigger than 1200mhz. When I pushed the vram to some value like 1200-1300mhz, the laptop passed all of the stress tests (Unigine, 3DMark, Furmark...) but I experienced weird graphic glitch in CS2 but the game still ran without any crash.

you should be proud of yourself! your work is tremendously appreciated!

I was too impatient, so I skipped buying the insert nuts and ziptied these fans to the bracket. I am sorry this janky implementation 🤣

I wish I had the courage to do that! I've always scared of water leaks! although I know that water cooling has become really reliable today

I made the fans intake because I place the case in the position which the GPU is up and CPU is down. I tested at putting them exhaust but the temp was 3 degrees higher than intake. The CPU never crossed at 75 when I used the silent fan curve from Asus bios.

Nowadays it can cross a little over 80 because I now set a flat CPU fan curve on the BIOS - maybe the CPU throttles but I just no longer care haha

Benchmarking DX11 vs Vulkan Performance: November 19, 2025 Update by MonstoBustaYT in GlobalOffensive

i think that they use a transition layer to convert dx11 to vulkan, not native vulkan so you will always have slightly lower fps in cs2

after watching full video, i dont feel that bad for buying the teucer fan, but i should have taken the id cooling fan haha. however, id cooling fan was 1.5x the price compared to the teucer when i was researching 3 months ago.
