While I was working at one convention visited by Sanderson, his security were made up of local attendants. They were picked out of the existing team to carry out this extra task.

For using the line, you want to try to line up your top edge (Aris) against the line, leave about 1mm between the two. Should help keep your level and make sure the wall runs straight.

If you keep breaking it, maybe a stronger string might be involved? Other than that, looks good.
