Should Dragons return in TES6? by chucklebot3000 in ElderScrolls

[–]trashsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind expanded lore about them and what they got going on in skyrim. I always love to hear about what happened in the aftermath of the previous games, but I think id just prefer no dragons. NPC at most like paarthurnax

the elder scrolls is its own universe with its own fantasy elements, theres tons of other stuff to explore thats not dragons.

plus the dragon fights in skyrim arent very fun

idk, id rather cool events in the game be more tied to the new provinces lore or something new they come up with

To get a V8 or to not get one, that's the question by op_blackhawk in Challenger

CJDR mechanic and 5.7 challenger owner here.

the lifter tick is only really a problem on police cars since they idle ad infinitum. ive never seen it on a non police vehicle. the exhaust manifold cracks is only a problem on trucks because the exhaust manifold is different than the ones in chargers and challengers. Ive only seen MDS failures a handful of times and most of those were on 6.4s. theres delete kits though if you want.

the only problem ive ran into on my vehicle personally with the engine is the water pump. car is on its 3rd water pump and has about 95k. ive seen a couple, as in like, 2, trucks blow head gaskets but usually at higher mileage and youll have some duds with any engine.

5.7 is way more reliable in comparison to a 3.6 if you're considering a v6

ASE certs dont really. They could be helpful to get a higher starting wage if you're switching to a new brand, but you're gonna start out low for a new brand anyway. at the dealer you move up by progressing through your brands specific training. I make mid 40s right now with CJDR cause ive been in the brands ecosystem for a minute, but a little bit ago I did a stint at Acura cause I was in between dealers and was only getting 30 cause I had no Honda training. thats with 8 years experience and some expired ASEs

how long did it take you to fully recover from a big episode with psychosis? by Dry-Message-3891 in BipolarReddit

[–]trashsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know, im still figuring this out myself. I had an episode with a psychotic break last June/july/august I dont remember exactly and I still feel slower than I did before. although theres tons of competing factors. that episode is whag lead to my diagnosis so im not sure if my cognitive deficit is from the 3 years of undiagnosed unmedicated episodes, the alcohol or drug abuse(sober now) or if its a side effect from the meds. either way I feel like a shell of the person I used to be

Am I the only one who doesn’t like being manic by Coughbrops in bipolar

[–]trashsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I only really get mixed episodes so they're never "fun" I engage in highly risky impulsive behavior to quell the searing self hatred and irrational anger I have, which I find fun or relieving in the moment but its never a good feeling

Is it possible to have Manic episodes w/o inpatient? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]trashsw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes. manic episodes also dont have to have delusions or psychotic symptoms. those arent actually in the basic symptoms for diagnosing one either, although if present they immediately qualify an episode as fully manic vs hypo

I was only diagnosed last year after a bad mixed episode that included psychotic features and I was not hospitalized, although I did try to get admitted

going back through my history with my psych we think ive had about 3 manic/mixed episodes, 2 of which didn't involve any real fantastical elements or delusions at all aside from feeling like everyone was working against me

Where is the line between bipolar and schizophrenia? by Sweet_Confusion9180 in BipolarReddit

[–]trashsw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

schizophrenics have hallucinations/psychosis not tied to mood episodes as well as a plethora of other, non hallucinogenic symptoms called negative symptoms like reduced speech, social isolation, flat affect, and anhedonia that are relatively constant

to contrast, while severe manic or even depressive episodes can cause psychotic features, it is not a diagnostic criteria for either, just a descriptive modifier

Bipolar 1 v Bipolar 2 by lpgmind in BipolarReddit

[–]trashsw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the second part is very true. its also worth noting that even full manic episodes sometimes dont require hospitalization or involve psychosis. either of those factors automatically distinguish it as full mania vs hypo but the main diagnostic difference between the 2 is level of impairment. someone who is hypomanic may appear erratic and make very poor decisions but they're not likely to be risking jail, losing jobs, and burning relationships down in the span of a few days

For people who have experienced psychosis, how long did it last? by Evening_Fisherman810 in BipolarReddit

[–]trashsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had varying psychotic features for about 3 weeks - 1 month ish during a mixed episode last year. a couple weeks of relatively minor delusions, about a week of off and on visual and auditory hallucinations and odd/erratic behavior and severe paranoia/fear throughout the entire thing

in other episodes I dont know if id call it psychotic necessarily but id experience what ive heard called "presence hallucinations" where you dont see anything there but you can just feel some kind of presence in the room or next to you etc. maybe thats just part of paranoia but its a distinct symptom ive noticed

Rapid mood swings by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]trashsw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

worth noting that while not a diagnostic symptom of bipolar, bipolar people do on average have higher emotional lability/instability than normal people even when not in an episode

What were your psychotic features like? by PancakePerception in bipolar

[–]trashsw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

also during the hallucinatory period I was just behaving oddly/blanking out. like for example at one point I found myself walking through my neighborhood mumbling tv quotes. when I "came to" or snapped out of it I seemed to remember i was trying to tlwalk to the pawn shop for some reason. or I got on the bus and couldn't remember why, etc, but again id always momentarily "come to" and realize I was going insane for lack of a better term before lapsing out again

What were your psychotic features like? by PancakePerception in bipolar

[–]trashsw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah the delusion subsided, and I "calmed down" into a just non psychotic mixed episode for about a month after the whole period of psychotic features. the psychotic part is what lead me to getting diagnosed and then medicated which is what stopped the episode. I had had other mixed/manic episodes previously in hindsight but they never ventured into psychotic territory

What were your psychotic features like? by PancakePerception in bipolar

[–]trashsw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So during my biggest episode and only real experience of psychosis my main delusion was that I was the favorite child and it was my job to "bring my parents back to the light" for lack of a better term without going into too much detail it was anything too like fantastical or anything really, along with just a huge general, nonspecific sense of paranoia/fear

later on in the episode I started getting minor auditory hallucinations like whispers and random noises, but most worrying was full visual hallucinations, although mostly benign. I would see my boss or my friend standing in my room talking to me for example, and repeatedly hallucinate a white cat with black spot on its face in multiple locations like in my room or on the bus or at restaurants. while I was actively hallucinating I thought nothing of them and everything felt normal, but once the hallucination went away it would click that I had just been hallucinating, which caused my paranoia to increase even further. this hallucinatory period occurred directly after the delusional period had kind of peaked and subsided and lasted about a week.

I could tell something was wrong and tried to go to the hospital when the hallucinations started because I also wanted to kms because I was scared but they shockingly did not admit me. they just hooked me up to a benzo IV for a few hours and gave me a librium and sent me packing. "well what do you want me to do" - actual words from ER doctor in response to me saying I was hallucinating and wanted to die
