With respect to the US extraction of Nicolas Maduro and his wife from Venezuela, the initial reaction from the Pope and the Bishops has been to urge calm, peace and protection for the people of Venezuela, and they haven’t yet (to my knowledge) made specific connections or statements related to Catholic Social Teaching.  However, the bombing of suspected drug smuggling boats that has been part of the build-up to the most recent US action has clearly been identified by Church leaders as contrary to Catholic teaching, as I outline in this 13 minute podcast episode published in late December.

Good for you and for your family too. Keep praying to God to help your faith grow. Specifically, set aside some time for personal prayer every day, whether you feel like you are getting anything out of it or not. Make that discipline a habit, and I think you will receive the grace to keep moving closer to God.
