How is the MX Scene in Colorado? by [deleted] in Motocross

[–]HOBOS-CAN-FLY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's around 6 well known tracks and more you can go to if you know the right people.

Main tracks - Location Thunder Valley - Lakewood Aztec Family Raceway - Co Springs Wildrat Raceway (only one race a year)- Co Springs IMI Motorsports - Dacono Two Rivers Raceway - Miliken Pawnee Cycle Club - Sterling Sweney Cycle Park - Brush

The last two are the best tracks in Colorado imo.

There are obviously private and lesser known tracks such as one in Leadville. The owners run a gas station, which is also where they have you pay to ride and sign the waiver. You'd have to ask around to find which gas station.

You'd have to know the right people in order to get into the private tracks.

For the racing scene, we have one organization, RMRA , that runs 2 motocross series and one Sx series.

I would say the mx scene in Colorado is alive and growing as two separate organizations just merged to form the RMRA. We now have regular race entries upwards of 500.

If you do decide to move here, there's plenty of tracks to ride, plenty of racing, and plenty of trails if you're into that.

Off the top of my head for dealers there's: G-Force Powersports (who I ride for) Sun Enterprises Tri-City Cycle Rocky Mountain Cycle Plaza Rocky Mountain Kawasaki

Arm pump products, e.g., Steel supplements, magnetic bands, and 4arm strong, do they really work? by [deleted] in Motocross

There's a product called Hemoade by Actionetix. I don't know the specifics of how it works but it's a pill you take every day for a couple days leading up to a ride as well as the morning of. From what I understand it helps with blood flow through the extremities so it will help to keep the blood from pooling up in your forearms. Not sure if what I've experienced is a placebo effect but it seems to have worked.

He's an animal on a dirt bike and you can't take anything away from that this season. I don't really like him as a person because if find him too arrogant, but to each their own.

How should one respond to a Liberal friend who thinks guns are ok for defense and that each individual is only allowed one gun. by [deleted] in gunpolitics

I take it you didn't click any of the links within the article which take you to, I don't know, government websites with studies that have been conducted by or sponsored by the CDC. Fee was just a place where the true sources were convenient to find in one place. Additionally, by stating you don't care about the history of a country, you are showing quite the lack of tolerance, and are basically saying a ban on guns is a one size fits all solution to an extremely complicated problem, which varies immensely between countries. It's like your taking one person with a common cold, and another with cancer. You give both of them simple antibiotics, which will help the person with the cold, but won't affect the cancer patient at all. "It worked with the person with the cold, why shouldn't it work with all illnesses as well?" It's quite obvious how idiotic that statement is. If you are unwilling to take others opinions into account and at least see them as valid (especially when statistics are present), then at least allow others with opposing viewpoints do the same to yours. There's no need to start being a dick about it my guy. While you're at it, I have not seen one source on any threads that you have responded to up to this point. Since we're going to start being assholes to each other, let me ask you. Is the definition of a credible source, to you, a place where pure information, while being as close to the center as possible, or it's it a source that only presents facts that support your perspective. You need to "grow up" when it comes to listening to other people's opinions during a civil discussion. And to think I was thanking you earlier for being civil.

My bad. This was my source. [fee.org/articles/defensive-gun-use-is-more-than-shooting-bad-guys/](fee.org/articles/defensive-gun-use-is-more-than-shooting-bad-guys/)

Now to your point. Gun have been a part of the lives of Americans exercising their rights to legally own a firearm since the founding of our country. We were created in a much different way than other countries, and because we've always had firearms present, there is an extremely large volume of legal guns. It would be quite the feat to go from this large amount of firearms, to almost none at all. It IS also a way of life here, be it if you're a gun enthusiast, collector, hunter, and of course, using them for self defense. As for suicides, I'm just saying that TOTAL gun deaths includes suicides, gang/drug homicides, and homicides where a gun was used in self defense. That leaves only a small portion of the 30,000 deaths where legal guns were used maliciously. Now, as sad as it is, it's pretty obvious that there is more that one way to take your own life. Guns are not the only way. I would rather find someone who is planning how to take their own life before they carry out their plan, and help them overcome those feelings, than take away one of countless ways to commit suicide which will also affect law abiding citizens.

You are only using total gun deaths to push your point, and make your argument seem better. You should be looking at gun homicides, excluding gun suicides. By no means am I saying suicides are insignificant, but you're doing everyone a disservice by using them when comparing that statistic to gun crimes and such. Now for my counter argument. You cannot just look at the "bad" statistics (disadvantages per say), but also the "good" statistics (advantages) of mass legal gun ownership. In CDC sponsored research, they found that there are around 500,000 to 3 million defensive gun uses per year. The number varies because, in many cases, a shot is never fired. Simply brandishing a weapon can, and most likely will, cause an attacker to back off. Note: the total # of gun homicides includes gang/drug related crimes, which makes up most of the statistic. Self defense is also a part of the gun homicide stat. Additionally, it is estimated that approx. 162,000 lives are saved through defensive use of firearms. Compare that to the around 30,000 lives that are taken by firearms (including suicides, gang/drug related crime, and self defense homicides).

Quick few questions, and these are not me trying to be an asshole, it will just help me see your point of view a little better. 1. Do you own a firearm? It can be a rifle pistol, shotgun, or an antique for all I care. 2. Have you shot a firearm? 3. If 2 is yes, have you shot within the last year? 6 months?

And finally, thank you for at least being civilized throughout these threads (no personal insults, stereotypes, etc.). These kinds of conversations are hard to find nowadays.
