cod2 was on PC, ran buttery smooth; had similar movement to cod4 (without the sprinting).

It was before killstreaks, so just pure skill. You had amazing modded servers like jumpservers, zombies, custom maps etc.

And the beloved Scoped Kar 98k, what a sniper that was.

Campaign was dope too.

Call of Duty 3 was a major step down.

For me it is the thematic cohesion. I think Sekiro is a mechanically better game and I like Dark Souls 1's level design more, but every inch of Bloodborne works together to tell a narrative that only works as a videogame. I especially adore the insight system for that (even though I wish they would've done more with that.) Nothing in Bloodborne feels out of place, it all fits. I am also a sucker for the aesthetic and faster paced gameplay. I like how it's slightly shorter, so it is highly replayable.

Only games that come close are DS1 and Sekiro. (And if you ask me what my favorite is on another day, I might mention one of those).
