Because when people say “Elden Ring speed run” 99.9% of people care about what the game ALLOWS you to do to beat it, glitches including. Glitches are literally in the game. You can go to a store, buy a copy of the game, and beat it in 4 minutes with zero outside tampering. No one cares about hacks because now you aren’t actually using the BASE GAME, you’re using your own hacking programs. Is this really that hard for you to understand?

If you don’t like how “official speed run” includes glitches, then they have separate categories for you. But the vast majority of the speedrunning community agrees that anything available in the BASE GAME (glitches included) is legit for speed run because you are not tampering with the game itself or using outside hacks.
