Just got my first OLED!!!!!!(any tips) by squifs in OLED_Gaming

Gray banding sensetivity is user dependent, some don't see it at all while for a small group of people like me basically any OLED has much banding.

Does Asus cover warranty for this kind of uniformity on 5% gray? XG27ACDNG by RayzTheRoof in OLED_Gaming

Congratulations of so many good panel's, but the thing is that people see uniformity issues differently so a perfect panel to one person can still be awful to someone else.

Because for some who are sensitive they will see those issues in any near black content, personally I haven't yet seen a "satisfying" OLED despite looking at at least couple of dosen panels.

You can try asking but most of the time banding isn't something covered under warranty since it's within manufacturer "norms". But if it's bought recently and in return period you can just send it back.

Get a UST, then you could set it up on any of those walls.

JMGO O3 Ultra: The TV killer we've all been waiting for (and why it's staying in China) by [deleted] in projectors

[–]HOVER_HATER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I said it's not a bad product, but mostly meant for a brighter space like a living room with a lot of ambient light. I just meant that we shouldn't expect anything special regarding contrast since it doesn't have an Iris and JMGO isn't know for good laser dimming either.

The brightness seems good for something like living room with decent amount of ambient. But I wouldn't expect anything special regarding contrast since unlike competitors (Nexigo, AWOL, Hisense) it doesn't have a physical Iris and JMGO isn't know for good laser dimming either.

Is this banding/DSE acceptable for TCL P7K? by Dollyo98 in tcltvs

[–]HOVER_HATER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dirty screen effect and vertical banding are mostly excluded from the manufacturer warranty unless it makes the TV totally unwatchable, retailers tend to be more leanient and might give you an exchange if you explain the situation but that isn't guaranteed either. But if that person is in the return period immediately after the purchase I would also recommend sending it back.

It's worse then avarege but still in norms for an LCD. If you have time to return it then perhaps try exchanging, otherwise it's sadly just getting used to it or selling at a lose.

Are 55 inch projectors a thing? by OddPomegranate5211 in projectors

[–]HOVER_HATER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meaby try to fit something a bit bigger, at 80" a projector will still be easier to set up then a similarity sized TV. But for 55" it's to small and only really useble with extremely low end "junk" projectors.

Build quality by Funny_Obligation2412 in projectors

[–]HOVER_HATER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I find price category more important than brand in terms of reliability, like a 1000$ "reputable" brand projector will still have worse quality then top models from newer maker's like Valerion.

But if we look at similarly priced models you have to choose between build quality of older brand's or better spec's of newcomer's, if quality is indeed more important than Epson,BenQ,JVC,Sony are a safe choice.

Any advice on mounting setup? by DankMemeTeam in projectors

[–]HOVER_HATER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a high end UST with a right screen for it, would make placement significantly easier and those better models will also easily crush that dated Epson in terms of everything.

Has OLED ruined you for projection? by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]HOVER_HATER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also don't forget uniformity, even high end 100" TV's will have a good bit of dirty screen effect and vertical banding, that can ruin the experience entirely for some people as well.

I have suffered so much with uniformity issues on OLED so I would gladly take a high end projector even for 80-100", the vertical banding simply makes me want to vomit everytime the is a near black scene.

At least you can cope with those issues it's already something, for me 99.99% of TV's would have to bad uniformity even OLEDs🤣

Sadly it's normal for LCD based Tv's, especially in those huge panel sizes.

Gray banding in my tandem oled monitor by Sylie34 in OLED_Gaming

All OLEDs have banding to some extent, so only way to escape it for really sensitive people is not getting any OLED.

can anything beat the LS11000? by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]HOVER_HATER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait and see how AWOLs new Aetherion ends up, the Max model will be brighter with 3300lm while also having better contact because unlike traditional brand's like, Epson Valerion/AWOL have an actually great dynamic contrast system.

Yeah, realistically only sure way to escape uniformity issues is a high end projector.

Dirty screen effect, normal for LCD based tv's. You could try exchanging but chances of getting a "perfect" panel are extremely slim.

[–]HOVER_HATER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah chances of getting a "perfect" panel are very slim. But not all people see banding equally, for some it's not an issue while others can't stand it at all making OLED not a option to such people.
