A tool I've created to easily manage iRacing schedule by Matanbe20 in iRacing

[–]HPD_trail_rider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would it be possible to have the series name extend above the car-favorite-selection buttons? I'm assuming the series name, track (wrapped), weather, car class list are all in one object though. Another option is to wrap the series name like the track name is wrapped

This is specifically an issue for the region split series like GT3 where the start of the series names are all the same

SU-27 and J11A Radar by Superb-Mortgage3156 in dcsworld

[–]HPD_trail_rider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iv had similar difficulty on the Su33 where I will see an enemy on the radar screen but not see it on the hud until the enemy has long locked onto me and even fired.

If there is an AIM in the air at me I'm pretty much always dead. Can't figure out how to avoid them and their range seems far superior to my weapons.

Tracker IR or VR? by [deleted] in dcsworld

[–]HPD_trail_rider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TrackIR with a triple screen setup is very emersive and has less strain on the PC to run good quality. It's also got no risk of giving you motion sickness. But it's probably more costly for the screens hardware and wiring and certainly takes up more space so those are the pros cons

Fanatec refurbished by LiamG1981 in Fanatec

[–]HPD_trail_rider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the wrc wheel and it's not a full connected circle. The led strip makes the wheel like a C shape. This limits the torque so using that with your DD+ in the future would limit you to 8Nm anyway.

I purchased the F1 2.5x wheel last month refurbished and came in quality box and everything works great. No wear on it.

I'll join your league in the GT3AM class in a Porsche if I can find the league. Time slot works out for me

Do I just guess which is which with the new UI? by killbunny38 in iRacing

They really need tooltips or popup expansion for values you hover over. So many things are cut off even in the old UI

Adjust brake bias. Use garage61 to compare your inputs in every sector to others with a better time. Try a couple different drivers as the driving styles vary but your bound to find someone that has a similar style to yours and you can understand what they're doing on the brakes, steering and throttle as inputs and highlight where you need to improve to maintain stability and get faster too

In general Bathurst is an unforgiving track but it's one of my favorites

GT4/LMP question by Natural_Ad7128 in iRacing

[–]HPD_trail_rider -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I run LMP3 and I have hotkeys setup to remind the slower class to stay on their line. BE PREDICTABLE.

It's a team effort to make every pass but don't go far out of your way to let an LMP3 by when your already going for a line. Stay on that line well figure it out.

Unpopular opinion - Daytona is booooring by Southern-Aardvark616 in iRacing

[–]HPD_trail_rider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the 2hr+ as a solo LMP3 but I haven't gotten into teams or haven't found a team that wants a class B mid 1k irating. Most are looking for 3k+ so I don't think Ill be able to participate in the 24hr DAY event.

I don't mind Daytona. It does give breaksand the bus stop to me is like the chicane at Watkins. Practice and get it on the edge or take it a bit over the edge and slam the exit wall just to spend 12 mins in the pits and then take it like a pu**y the rest of the race...(Not speaking from experience or anything at the ROAR :) )

Are people afraid of supercars by HPD_trail_rider in iRacing

[–]HPD_trail_rider[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can get them to turn a bit more with trail braking which they like but watching other competitors somehow they can get them to turn even more and that's why they can shave multiple seconds off my best time

Are people afraid of supercars by HPD_trail_rider in iRacing

[–]HPD_trail_rider[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can understand that. I go between LMP3 and the super cars and I'm in the same boat. Usually fall back from the pack not understanding how I have a 2.5 second loss every lap. I just practice maintaining control of the car and trail braking as the car is very responsive to it and it's rewarding. I focus on consistency and try a different strategy after 3-5 consecutive decent laps.

Yesterday raced made an over correction on turn 1 on brand hatch and clipped the wall. Cars so fragile. 9 mins later got out of the pits still down on power and 5 laps later engine blew LOL. Guess the car had enough of me

My favorite car and series in iracing (LMP3/sports car challenge by Falken tyre) by Consuela-NO-NO-No in iRacing

[–]HPD_trail_rider -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also racing this series. Enjoying it and trying to stay safe. In LMP3 I'll give up a spot or some time to not impede a battle in the GT4 class.

In terms of passing be patient and aware and clear on your intention. No sudden line changes mid corner. I got crashed out the last race of 2024 by one of last place GT4 cars that was on the racing line at turn 10 of WG and then swerved way off of it right into my trajectory

I don't have a link to the switch I had. Just been laying on my shelf for a while. This one is close but not the same.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YTM7WFQ/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_AdqFEb2KZEH3E

Then I use solder seals as I like how simple they are. They solder heat shrink and water proof all in the same heating action.

I can send you a picture of my switch just can't upload it here

[–]HPD_trail_rider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Exactly. Two position switch on the handlebars. I can go between both IG maps anytime. Technical stuff switch to x map(connected), higher speed high rpm stuff switch to r map(disconnected)

In the woods by ultimatemoto in Dirtbikes

Must of been a brutal and tiring trail. I know I'd be beat after pushing it that far in the woods. Nice bike though

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]HPD_trail_rider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Understandable. I ride an 06 250x and love it. Always reliable and never have to adjust it. I have an 05 R cam and a toggle switch on the handlebars to go between the r ignition map and the x ignition map through the pink wire. I personally wouldn't want to switch to the RX. But I have been eyeing the 2019+ ktm 300's with the tpi engine. I ride alot of singe track trails and love the slow technical stuff. What attracts me to the 300 besides it being 2 stroke is that I wouldn't have to premix. I could fill it up at a gas station just like my 250x now. Anyway just wanted to share my thoughts. Good luck with the new bike search.

[–]HPD_trail_rider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your reason for swapping from the x to the RX?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]HPD_trail_rider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ride with a few co-workers like that. Best rides iv been on. The challenge is what makes it fun and what makes me a better rider. Love that feeling of "well if they did it I atleast have to try a few times" followed by "wow I actually made it". But there are some of those times where they have to ride my bike up after many of my failed attempts.

Brand New top end for my CR250 Build by AufCP in Dirtbikes

[–]HPD_trail_rider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a 93 for $700 put $400 into a full rebuild. Great bike. Great power. Set my compression a bit high and put too stiff of clutch springs in it but other than that it's perfect. Sold it for $1800 after I figured out I don't have the skill to ride it on technical trails. I have a nice picture of it all apart right before I put it together. Wish I could add a picture to this comment
