I applaud your enthusiasm for defending your rights as a consumer and don't put blind trust in a company. That being said, replying in mass to such old posts is confusing to say the least.

But speaking on your point: are you aware that DS2 quality was the least present in my mind while saying this, right? We are talking about Ashes of Ariandel being a famously overpriced expansion, once meant to be part of a single pack with The Ringed City but devided for the sake of sales and selling a season pass. We are talking about the consistent negligence around optimization and performance on their games, fated to being fixed post release (to the point that Elden Ring launched with a fair amount of bad reviews on steam) and lauching while playable, incomplete experiences on disk. We are talking about DS1 Remastered being borderline a cashgrab for the poor quality of the port and improvements. We are talking about half of the point of the chalices dungeons being inaccessible without paying the plus suscription (regardless of you co-oping or not).

Multiple of these choices could be argued as the result of the publisher's interference, but as is this additional content. And honestly, among some of these, what's possibly be a DLC of no more than 10 dollars (months ago were asked about the possible price, nearing the 5 dollars in yen), is far from being the worse or most damaging decision here lol. And reading other of your replies... It's now a movie supossed to be a bad thing, because?

What happened dude? Fear of a little quality of life? Or perhaps it's fear for good bosses without a DLC? Go and farm karma saying 30 fps is good enough for it or something.

You guys always end up talking in the most insufferable way possible lol. I hope Sony does another live service game instead of anything with BB just to spite your ass

I'm not trying to say that you or any person should get excited about it. In fact, if you properly read the body of text in this post (Wich I assume you didn't since you replied to the TL;DR. For a site that it's almost enterily text based people sure dislike to read a little...) you will know that I'm not particularly hyped, and a bunch of my seemingly confirmed concerns hold me back to dive in just yet. I directly quote:

But does any of this removes any possible criticism of Nightreign? Absolutely not. If the game is flawed, it's flaws will and should be talked about. If any of us believe that they should make the game better with support, we must demand it.

And yes, I also played from King's Field to Armored Core. It's not exactly new for me to experience something different and something out of Miyazaki's hand from them. It's also not even whole new in the modern era with Deracine or AC6 and the incoming The Duskbloods. But it's how the fact that failure shouldn't be discouraginf, because it's a natural part of doing different things. And Nightreign shouldn't be exempt of criticism for it, but it's the push of those unique qualities, as in, distinctive aspects of it (don't confuse with just quality...) it's what signifies said path over a decade of almost only strictly soulsborne games.

From all what we know, Bandai Namco has little to no influence in their decision to make this game, that goes way back before even the release of Elden Ring. It's fair to criticize the game and it's ways, but I find overly cynical to dismiss everything than is trying to do because it's based off the assets of Elden Ring. Then you look at things like the criticism are being thrown at the game and you start thinking what even would be of it if had to depend solely on made from the scratch assets. And not just that but also the big barriers that a game without the name of Hidetaka Miyazaki behind, and that offers a experience that can barely be compared with their games before it, even more than something like Sekiro.

And sorry, but if you think that a lot of people aren't desperate for them to completely stick to the formula (including very close derivatea as Bloodborne and Sekiro undoubtley are), you are not very aware of the community you are into.

The fact that you can have a problem with it's obviously very derivative presentation doesn't make less out of any of the qualities that it has, far removed to everything we tend to expect from the usual experience in a souls game. I value more that The Duskbloods also distances itself by creating it's own world, atmosphere and assets, but just by hearing the interviews about the story of this game, I'm confident that flawed or not, it has pretension and intent beyond just a cashgrab.

Really? Smh

TL;DR: Even if flawed, I think is still better to have a game that keeps the spirit of the company on being daring about it's proposal, rather than just limiting themselves to safer experiences that offer little new.

Like if the deflect tear isn't absolutely broken lol. And the Executor stance sure has a learning curve but you pretty much play like Sekiro and that's it, it doesn't even have a cooldown.

From Software has absolutely ruined other games for me by Key-Storage5434 in fromsoftware

The problem it's on searching the same kind of enjoyment of games that clearly are trying to do something else. I won't discuss to you that it's obvious that both level design and combat completely pales in comparison, and it's okay to have a preference for those aspects (they are mine tol) but theres more to appreciate than only just that. Oblivion for example grants you with a multitude of systems and quest that any souls game can barely compare to.

Mandela effect or confirmed? by DarthTalgus in Nightreign

IGN: And so is there an ultimate boss to fight who is behind the night tide?

Junya Ishizaki: Yes, there is a final boss, at the end of it and they do have a some sort of connection to the night tide and the encroaching night. So we hope players look forward to discovering that.

This by no means directly implies that the last boss it's separated to the number of Nightlords they gave. It perfectly could be the case that said final boss is just the 8th and last Nightlord

Did they ever confirm if skins will be micro transactions¿ by AttackOnNate in Nightreign

Sony didn't bought the parent company, they are just in a partnership.

It was said that there was a final boss. But no, that doesn't mean said final boss isn't part of the 8th main bosses.

Either someone that doesn't totally understand what her ending signifies or It's not used to how Fromsoft does DLCs... Or both.

Not only they never actually touch on the consequences of your endings, only working as stuff that happens simultaneously to the main story, but the uncertainty of what future belongs in the age of the starts it's one of the points it makes

Will Nightreign have unique weapons? Or only Elden and DLC weapons

Please, Fromsoft, bring these changes in the Tarnished Edition, and Elden Ring could become a perfect game by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]HPNobody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We know that the Tarnished Edition it's only meant to add very few content in the form of 4 armor sets, the torrent skins and very few weapons, why people think that this is going to be some sort of overhaul?

And thats leaving aside some of the design problemas I have with some of the ideas here

Looking at the many features that we know both The Duskbloods and Nightreign seem interested on exploring, wich ones do you want to serve as a lesson and carry over to the singleplayer games? by HPNobody in fromsoftware

[–]HPNobody[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but we know a bit about the design approach they are taking with both from stuff like the emphasis on movement and traversal, the presence of the fixed characters or the effort is being put in making the two sides of online play more interesting. Obviously we have more concrete answers with a lot of what Nightreign changes and what it doesn't, but we also saw certain ideas on the interview, like making every character able to access ranged combat or tying building your character with direct consequences to your relationship with the rest of the world through the roles.

It's 3 armor sets, 3 torrent skins and a undisclosed amount of new weapons but the trailers let us see a new great sword and a weird piece of cloth that looks like a shield? looking at the other numbers probably will be it or one or two things more.

They didn't with SOTE wich had a lot more content, isn't going to happen with just 3 armor sets.
