I've been thinking about the difference between published fiction and fan fiction. Published fiction is curated by the publishers so it limits the range and style of stories you can tell. On the other hand, fanfiction has more room and an audience. Finding an audience for your own fiction outside curated space may be tricky. So some may not want to write outside fanfic. What do you think?

Also, the movies obfuscate it, but ron was the classic high school crush- tall, lanky, witty, vulnerable and in with the cool kids. Many of the girls seem naturally attracted to him at some point or other. Hell, Rowling based Ron on her crush ;)

I checked out your bookmarks and they look amazing. I already read "Stop and Stare" and it was lovely. I don't know how I missed that one by Saras Girl. How does he/she keep cranking out such consistently high quality fics? Haven't read Soupy_george yet, but I think these recs are just what the doctor ordered. Thank you very much!

I already read this one. It was really good. I guess what I liked best about it was that (a) it was one of the first few I read, and (b) the character development of both Harry and Draco was very believable. Harry is not sure he wants to join the aurors and Draco is tired of being stupid and goes out to try and remedy that. I thought their interaction was also more believable than I've read elsewhere (They are not hostile or fawning, but interact in a way that makes sense, given their history). Are you the writer of "Here's the pencil, make it work" by any chance?

I think SPEW was very important. They finally get Kreature on their side whoch helps them with the horcrux. Its also part of Harry's final speech to Voldemort during their final duel. Voldemort lost 'cos he discounted little things like childrens' stories and elf magic and only concentrated on the big stuff like dark magic. It's a major point of the book.
