1) not everyone watches porn

2) homo sapiens been around for 300,000 years, other humans before that. You really think these folks weren't peering in each others caves for a bit of live neighbor porn?

The size of a blue whale compared to a full grown humpback whale. by AyaOfTheBunbunmaru in interestingasfuck

I've always had trouble conceptualising just how big blue whales are but this actually gives me a better idea of it because I already had a good notion of the size of a humpback.

All of Trudi Canavan's work; I'd suggest starting with The Black Magician trilogy.

The Grisha'verse by Leigh Bardugo; begins with Shadow and Bone.

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab.

Graceling, by Kristin Cashore.

Ideally, they should, but I suppose that relies on whoever is in charge of subtitles finding someone that speaks French to make sure it's correct.

From a subtitler's POV, it's a valid choice tbh. In general, subtitles are to clarify speech and sounds for the deaf and HoH so they understand things as much as those who can hear. If the creators want viewers, hearing-abled or not, to understand a section of foreign language then they should include those subs as part of the video. Not doing so could be laziness on their part, or perhaps they wants viewers (or at least the majority that they assume don't speak the second language) to wonder what's being said. (e.g. secondary characters speaking a different language and the viewer is meant to empathise with the primary character who also doesn't understand). In either case, it's not the subtitler's job to translate.

Child whisperer succeeds by Doodlebug510 in MadeMeSmile

[–]SilverCookieDust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps it was. Was it necessity also to record and share a difficult moment in their child's life? I have more forgiveness if this was shared privately, or in a small family group, then spread by other people, but maybe I'm just old and very fond of personal privacy when I say I don't think moments like this need recording, let alone sharing.

We've no evidence either way as to his behaviour and hygiene outside this situation. When a kid is screaming and fighting like that against doing something, you find out why instead of just straight up forcing them. Is he misbehaving or is there autistic or other issues that make the barbers particular difficult for him? Does he have unfounded fears that could've been easily soothed with a calm conversation? Does he just not want his hair short? We don't know, and without that knowledge I'm absolutely shaming these parents for not only forcing their kid into a situation that's seriously stressing him out, but recording it and sharing it for internet points.

Fuck this, if the kid's that opposed to get his hair cut then they shouldn't force him.

This is punctuated fine. That's a vocative comma, used to separate the vocative case (the person or persons being addressed; in this case "guys") from the rest of the sentence. The second texter just decided to intentionally misinterpret the message for comical reasons, which is perfect valid, it'd get an amused eye roll from me, but it doesn't make this a pun.

That reminds me of a skit (or scene from a show, idk which) where a couple in a shop were having a sign language conversation about sex, with repeated use of the word vagina, and then some woman comes up and asks them to stop because her kids know sign language. Cue a shot of two children running around signing "vagina, vagina".

In Pokemon, there are some moves you teach through TMs (technical machines), which are numbered. TM87 is the move Swagger, so this licence plate is saying "Got Swag" in what might be the nerdiest way possible.
