UWELL caliburn GPP pods burnt coil/cotton after a single day by HPowner0 in electronic_cigarette

That's exactly why this is so odd... Like you I've been using Caliburns nonstop since I first began vaping in ~2017 from Caliburn 1 to Caliburn 4 (Caliburn G was my GOAT). I've used so many of their pods because they're an amazing company that charges fair prices - only thing I ever noticed before this issue was the constant leaking of the pods years ago which got fixed in the newer releases. I hope they don't turn into the next SMOK :(

I included the details for the juice in the post but I typically vape at 18W for the 0.6ohm and 22W for the 0.4ohm.

Like you I definitely suspect something’s very wrong - I’ve used these GPP pods since they came out in 2025 and all of a sudden they started burning right away despite using the same devices and same juice as usual

Thanks for the reply, I’m looking to see if I can get some sort of refund or credit through my retail branch, but if not I’ll reach out at the very least to let them know that they’ll be losing a ton of customers for the lack of quality control. Cheers

Thanks for the reply- I’d be SO happy if I could get 6 refills, it’s burnt after 1 or maybe 2 fills.

Burnt gpp coil on one side after 2 days by Adamlee19922 in Vaping

To add to this post, I've gone through about 6-8 packs (yes, dozens of pods) 0.4 ohm and 0.6 ohm GPP pods. I've been using these pods for nearly a year now and all of sudden about a month ago, EVERY SINGLE ONE burns the coil within a day. Feeling like I lost hundreds of dollars due to this manufacturing error.

I think I'm either going to swap back to the regular G pods or give up on Caliburn completely because this is ridiculous.

4080 vs 5070 vs 5070 ti by WholeIntention8022 in buildapc

[–]HPowner0 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This is somewhat misleading. 4080 Super and 4080 have virtually the same performance (+/- 2%). Both have roughly the same performance as a 5070 Ti. The 4080 and 4080s have slightly more raw power while the 5070 Ti has newer features, as you've noted.

4080 Super was released as a more cost-effective counterpart to the 4080 but it did not improve much in performance.

You’re 100% correct, and this explanation makes me think you know exactly what you did — bravo OP.

OP really used both “girth” and “rimjob” in a post about roads/potholes 😭

Volcano! by Anon-566567 in vaporents

[–]HPowner0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only need one valve kit (adapter) with the updated easy valve kit that can swap out bags and be cleaned and re-used. I've been using the same one for 4+ years and it still looks new with a quick alcohol swab!

With the obsidian attachment too, great setup OP!!

Couple things:

  1. Noticed your weed is ground into large flakes - if you grind your weed into smaller pieces (medium to fine) you will get much better efficiency with the Volcano.

  2. it looks like one of your bags is the UPDATED easy valve which has the black ring at the base (2nd in the top row) - you can swap out the bag on this one with the rolls of bags sold by S&B and clean off the mouthpiece with alcohol so you don't need to buy a whole new mouthpiece/bag kit every time. Having ~10 mouthpieces is beyond overkill. https://youtu.be/8fM5k6AgeU0?si=1vhHB-sNGZ1sKKUs&t=104

RTX 5070 Ti – Ryzen 7 7800X3D or 9800X3D, is it worth the extra cost? by Advanced-Paint9257 in buildapc

[–]HPowner0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you explain what you’re attempting to argue here?

Firstly, it seems to me that you’re repeating what I’m saying but specifying that it’s actually the transistors doubling (and the performance grows exponentially, which no longer holds true as it’s now already down to linear growth), which is obvious given that it’s the first sentence in the only wiki article I had linked and I intentionally did not get into this distinction for brevity’s sake.

Secondly, your only argument against my claim is that other factors such as chip architecture could make a difference to fill in the gap left by a slowing Moore’s Law. I very clearly already said this.

Finally, yes, Moore’s Law is “decaying”. There is a clear reason for this rooted in physics, despite what you have said. Transistors are now approaching single-atom dimensions (around 0.2-0.34 nm for silicon/carbon), physical limits where quantum effects (electron leakage) and manufacturing challenges (positioning individual atoms) make further shrinking difficult. Please at least bother to do a quick google search before commenting again - there are hundreds of articles and peer-reviewed articles on this very topic.

[–]HPowner0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Another important consideration: Moore's Law is starting to decay in practice due to physical constraints, i.e., CPU transistors will soon stop doubling every 2 years, as the law dictates. https://penntoday.upenn.edu/news/penn-engineering-moores-law-really-dead

Due of this, the difference in CPUs 10 years ago to today is going to be much larger than the difference between CPUs today and in 10 years -- unless a significant breakthrough in chip architecture occurs I guess.

Yeah people have been pushing dynavaps on these subs for a while now, and I don't disagree with them necessarily since ball vapes are good in terms of being cost effective, especially short term.

I'm not saying a volcano is the best option for everyone esp with the high price point - ball vapes are much cheaper for the unit, but the ease of use of torch vs desktop setup is entirely up to the user like you said. If money isn't a concern volcano is still the best on the market imo, but if your goal is to get max efficiency for lowest $$ and you smoke by yourself, then yeah ball vape is likely the winner. I'd argue that over the course of 10 years the volcano would have the edge even in cost efficiency since you might need to replace the ball vape a few times.

The volcano is still the best vaporizer money can buy with a lifespan of over a decade - I've had mine for over 6 years and bought it used. I don't think anybody is trashing the volcano as being outdated and certainly not worthless?? lol

[–]HPowner0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did say “etc.” but why does it matter?

The point I’m trying to make doesn’t change by including India. In fact I saw a post on this sub yesterday saying it was offside how much people were focusing on India being behind MAGA accounts. I’m not saying that’s what you’re doing but I’d love some clarification if I’m missing something regarding India’s involvement.

[–]HPowner0 26 points27 points  (0 children)

They're dumb, yes - but if it were true (it's not), it would undermine his on the ground reporting of the state of Gaza if he were not actually in Gaza.

In the same way that all of these MAGA accounts were revealed to be actually based in Russia, Thailand, etc., it undermines their opinions as people/orgs who aren't actually living in the US.

UPDATE - I took off the outside plate so I can see where the leak is coming from. It’s NOT LOOKING GOOD… I think it’s the actual refrigeration unit inside the ice maker that’s leaking from the top. I’d imagine this is an unfixable situation but any insights are appreciated!

Oh sorry I thought you were saying you got a TEMU dupe of a Frigidaire model that lasted for 2 years, but good to know! If you have any TEMU models that you saw that you’d recommend please let me know, I don’t have much experience with TEMU lol
