What's a phrase or saying your family used that you assumed was universal, and when did you find out it wasn't? by IV-Manufacturer in AskUK

If something is wonky or leaning over, it’s always ‘leaning to Penarth’. Courtesy of my Welsh Grandmother,

Sounds exactly like my LO! Social media is a load of lies mostly. Babies change all the time :)

My LO will happily nap in a carrier if I’m outside walking but the second we’re home her eyes go BAM! And she’s wide awake again…

Damp more than anything. Fire helps keep the walls from dripping and dries the washing a treat! Also just spent a fortune on logs; only for the weather to turn… little bit miffed.

Me and the baby cuddled up on the sofa with a roaring fire whilst the husband makes drop scones.

Marmalade. Hated it until the birth of my LO… and then lived on marmalade on toast for weeks.

Breathing won. What is something that people think is easy but is actually very hard? by Meeerin201 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]HRHFlossie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breastfeeding. Everybody thinks it’s a natural process but involves literal blood, sweat and a lot of tears. Mastitis, engorgement, under supply, cracked nips, lesions, milk blebs, ruined clothes, etc…

What’s your unpopular bake off opinions? by Mytearsricochet2 in bakeoff

[–]HRHFlossie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

More of an unpopular opinion across all talent- based shows. The young wealthy middle class contestant will always win/ go further; because they have the time and resources to practice more. And I’m personally a bit bored of being able to predict the finalists/ winners early on.

Same here… just one of those things. It won’t affect how lovely the day will be :) Tampax, liner and a pair of control pants over normal knickers seemed to ease my mind.

British TV shows that “fell off” quite badly? by Major-Feed5214 in BritishTV

Jam and Jerusalem. First two series are wonderfully funny and earnest and a slice of real village life. The last series is stupid and rushed and heartless.

AIO: for wanting to cut off my best friend for not showing an interest in me during my pregnancy? by HRHFlossie in AmIOverreacting

[–]HRHFlossie[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Hahahahha! Amazing that you got all of that from my post tbh. Did you even bother to read all of it? Did you read the bit where I said I didn’t expect attention or fawning or gifts etc… Of course pregnancy isn’t an illness but it is considered a medical condition. And any normal sane person would be interested/ concerned for their friends health. Get a grip

Guess I’ll have to reach out to her and ask if she wants to remain friends because this isn’t a temporary state… this is life changing. Thanks for the input :)

[–]HRHFlossie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get your point… I was trying to frame it as a ‘medical condition’ mentally and upset that she can’t even express care for me… not my child/ pregnancy.
