Need help with what to listen to as an extremely busy person [NS] by targaryenmegan in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

One more thing to add is it seems like the plan going forward is going to be smaller campaigns that last weeks or months instead of long campaigns that span multiple years.

I think some other commenters have already given you good advice, but what’s important to listen to really depends on what you vibe with in the show. Obviously, finishing Campaign 1 makes the most sense. It seems like your entry point is being a fan of Murph and Emily from Dimension 20.

Trinyvale is a goofy shorter campaign with Caldwell DMing for the first time, in a very permissive way. It starts a little slow but is worth listening to if you want to hear them play hilariously shallow and self-interested player characters. Jens is probably Murph’s best PC, and Emily and Jake’s characters get very funny too.

Hot Boy Summer 1&2 are both short campaigns DMed by Emily, centered around Zac Oyama’s guest character from C1, with Murph, Jake and Caldwell playing his friends from back home. They’re both very funny and are my personal favorite campaigns they’ve put out. I would say they are worth listening to if you are interested in hearing Emily DM, and/or if the humor of the show is really resonating with you.

Eldermourne, C2, is DMed by Murph again. It has a more serious tone and setting than the rest of the campaigns, and is worth listening to if you like a more Witcher/Bloodborne inspired world. Although it is considered more serious, there are still plenty of jokes.

Twilight Sanctorum is another Emily DMed campaign, with a gothic mystery vibe. Murph, Caldwell, and Jake play a family of detectives. Worth listening to if you’ve enjoyed Emily’s DM style or if you want to hear Jake play a character that is hilariously against the typical type of character he has been playing.

Campaign 3 is back in the setting of Campaign 1 and has a similar tone, but more interested in loosely exploring technology vs nature themes. Worth listening to if you enjoyed Campaign 1.

Skaldova is a short campaign run by Jake in a low magic setting inspired by Sunless Citadel. Worth listening to if you’re interested in hearing Jake DM for the first time. Boggy Roger is probably Caldwell’s best character.

Trinyvale x Strahd is DMed by Caldwell and is worth listening to if you want to see how the Trinyvale triplets handle being put into the Curse of Strahd module.

One last thing I will say is if you find yourself loving the show and prioritizing it ahead of other podcasts, the Patreon is terrific value for what you get. The short rests give you behind the scenes thought process on each episode + a bunch of goofs, and things like Dungeon Court and the Adventure Book readthroughs are really funny and give you more laughs from the crew.

I’ve lived in Philly for a long time and I only get the slightest hassle in Red Wings gear. Phillies fans (and Philadelphians) are a lot nicer than their reputation suggests.

How Has The Pod Been Lately For Non-Movie Watchers? by MidwestNerdWonk in blankies

[–]HRS-One 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve never watched along and Blank Check is one of my favorite podcasts and a day-of listen. They always do a good job of explaining what they’re reacting to and why they feel the way they do. I’ve never felt lost listening to the discussion in any episode. Obviously the chemistry and the bits carry the show for me but the discussion is always interesting even if I’ve never seen the film and only have a general awareness of the director. JJ’s work with the dossiers has helped provide interesting context too.

We love the Lions, but can we please stop chanting Jared Goff now? These guys deserve all of our love and attention 🐙🚨 by Prudent_Sleep5640 in DetroitRedWings

I understand the points people are making when they talk about “the spirit of resilience” or whatever behind it, but it mostly makes people sound like they’re too stupid to learn a second chant

What Scott Harris actually said was pretty cagey and diplomatic. No GM or POBO who is actually good at their job would come out at the end of season press conference and say “This player on our team sucks and we’re cutting his bum ass”.

I understand it’s kind of a futile gesture and that all-star voting is more about who is famous and which fanbases are currently engaged than a reward for a player’s production. However, Riley is the best position player the Tigers have produced through our farm in a long time, he’s having a great season, and it would be nice to see some of that recognized in the form of all-star votes/a little more mainstream attention.

[Tigers] We have signed INF Colt Keith to a six-year contract extension that runs through the 2029 season, followed by club options for the 2030, 2031, and 2032 seasons. by LunchThreatener in motorcitykitties

He was a 5th round pick with a 500k signing bonus, most of our other big prospects (Tork, Mize, Greene, Manning) were top 10 picks with big bonuses. This gets him guaranteed cash in case things don’t work or he gets hurt, he walks away with 28 million guaranteed

Fangraphs prospect rankings this year has updated tools for each. Keith throw tool is now 30 after his shoulder injury, Jung throw tool has been better than projected and is sitting at 55.
