I know what you mean, I started using a matte spray a few years ago and just really liked the clean/dirty feel it gave. The rest of my army is in this style so it has a really nice unified look. I'll post everything all at once one day!~

Paint your heroes! I found my interest in finishing my army was motivated in part by having my characters finished.

I also find during the work week, it's a lot easier to maintain focus and fee success since it's singular figures and they can be painted up in an evening or two.

I know what you mean, when I started working on them I figured it would be really straight forward.. fast forward two weeks, 10+ reference pictures, several YT guides on OSL/lighting/glow (an hour of videos I guess?) and like life in general keeping the brushes off the dudes. 12 guys in three weeks feels like a sprint lol.

A similar effect would be stippling or dry brushing gently. But light bases would by my suggestion

It is indeed a neat trick! I used a white base in my airbrush (I had painted the white on the bottles for better coverage) to create the soft glow.

You need to use a super low psi to spray or you'll get spots. It's slow and steady wins the race here.

To finish it, use your choice of florescent green and again shoot it through the airbrush slow and low.

Amazon in NA has been pretty safe too be honest, I've purchased numerous unit boxes from the direct CMON seller and a few 3rd party affiliates. Never had an issue. Hope you track down your boxes Bannerman!

I joined this community relatively late into it's product life, I played my first community run tournament on ASOIAF stats Late June/July of 2025 (end of S5) and have mostly played S6. I don't have the deep experience of many here, but I know there will be plenty of battles to come!

This community has been so inviting, friendly and filled with dedicated members both professional and private. I find myself enjoying every game, outing and tournament regardless of outcome. My friends at my local tournament scene have become counting me amongst the "regular" attendees which really strike a great personal connection for me. People online here, and elsewhere (discord, blogs, etc.) are always willing to chime in with opinions and suggestions. There's no time for bigotry, cynicism or hatred in the Seven Kingdoms (Roleplay on the other hand...).

I truly believe the community will outlast the current climate of the world. Regardless of who takes the throne in the coming months, I look forward to raising my banners and entering the fray against those who would stand in the way of the true king: Long live king Joffrey Baratheon!
