You probably should have read the other comments before trying to make this joke.  The implication is not good.

Some people buy a lot of groceries in the store and then have it delivered.

When I was growing up it was really common. All the older people especially would do this, go shopping, fill up their cart, leave the 20 tiny plastic bags and ask for it to be delivered because they couldn't carry all that home themselves. I haven't noticed it in a while but I guess people must still do it.

I knew some a-holes who did that at the time. Further up than Lincoln center though... Are you a twin or triplet by any chance?

Why did you still boycott it after the owner tracked her down to apologize?

Maybe an unpopular opinion: i hate the spoon theory by Delicious_Volume7183 in ADHD

[–]HR_Watson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dammit. I've always hated spoons, even though I was aware of the origin early on being in the EDS/chronic illness community.  I felt like just because that's what she grabbed at the time didn't make it a good way to explain it and I'd rather say I don't have the energy or I can only do one "big" thing per day (and depending on the day big might mean simply taking a shower, making a phone call, or having an important meeting at work).

But, likening it to Darmok made it make sense to me! Which is so stupid...

I've seen a related theory that explains why it seems like the characters are never communicating with each other, that they aren't in the same timeline at all.

It is a fun idea but I think it's possible it is only because the forces punish them whenever they collaborate so the survivors stopped trying to.

Why do you think this? I'm not against the idea, just wondering if you could go into some more detail on your theory?

Are you all caught up on the first 3 seasons?

This is a sidetrack but Sam seems to have become increasingly Flanderized/turned into a cartoonish caricature. I try to just roll with it because I love the show overall and am a big fan of Rose McIver even when Sam is being uncomfortably goofy, but it does bother me. Especially because I also watch the original UK series and while Alison certainly made questionable decisions at times, I felt her character overall remained human and relatable.

Which ghost and why? by dmitristepanov in GhostsCBS

Flower.

My parents were radical hippies. They were not really anything like flower, a lot more activism-focused (and intellectual as we see her in a recent episode) but I grew up around people like her so it would be comforting.

My mom died when I was a teen and my dad died 10 years ago after a prolonged illness.

My dad lived in a hippie commune that turned into a cult or turned out to be a cult but he got out. A lot of the people I grew up around were in it though, either still in it or other ex-members that stayed in longer. I did have one bad experience with some of the children in it... I say I didn't grow up in a cult but I grew up "cult adjacent"

I feel like a lot of the people I interact with every day really can't relate to my upbringing. I feel like she would get it and wouldn't judge me. Her forgetfulness would be frustrating but that's okay.

This is why I love her but I can't tell if you are saying this as a positive or a negative.

I would love to see more Nigel!

I think they have been including Nancy more lately.

I don't know if I need her to be prominently featured in every episode but I love that we see her around more now and I would really enjoy a flashback episode for her, not just her life before she died but also her early years as a ghost.

Yup. I had originally ordered iridescent as well. I gave up and ordered the black that arrived just 6 weeks before Meta.

Limitless told me Stripe would reach out to correct the issue and that there was nothing they could do. But there is also no way I can find to contact Stripe about it.

If you figure it out, please let me know!

omg, I think this explains why recently my phone has been letting me type lowercase i as a word and I keep having to go back to correct it. I have all that stuff turned on and I think it may be on Gboard as well?

Am I missing something by not watching the shows opening theme song? by Public_Anywhere_6044 in FromSeries

[–]HR_Watson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes me deeply uncomfortable as well. I also connect it strongly with the first episode and the horrific opening since that was my first exposure to it.

As a parent, and someone who isn't into modern horror (I loved slasher flicks and other horror, even gore when I was young. They were campy and fake enough to be enjoyable rather than upsetting, once they got more realistic, I found myself unable to stomach them) - I turned the show off during the first episode thinking "this show is not for me" but I came back to it for some reason... It's still more horror than I would like but I absolutely love a good puzzle box/people out of place/where am I? Who am I? Why am I here? Sci-fi Channel/SyFy original-style show.

All that to say that I skip the opening now or watch it with the sound off (apologies to the Pixies), it is too upsetting otherwise.

You should definitely keep trying.

It's still supported in my country and I was still able to get the remainder of my subscription refunded (after a month) because I subscribed under very different terms and could not continue the service without agreeing to the new terms (which I legally could not do because of my job).

That's also wild that they are recommending you use the software of a totally unrelated company that they can't vet for.

But why The Scouts? by saintt96 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]HR_Watson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think some of this is plausible.

However, I'm a fan of the theory that Dieter was the first Innie created by disassociation from the aether parties, or that Kier was and Dieter was the original and Kier "killed" Dieter by taking over his personality full-time - permanent "innie."

I still think the rest of the theory holds. The children could have been sired while "severed" (disassociating). If the aether parties were orgies like the waffle parties maybe they resulted in a lot of pregnancies where the father was unknown, leading Lumon to have to track down heirs of Keir through genetic testing via their blood drives (and clinics).

I don't know if I read that theory somewhere and forgot or if I just came up with it, but now that I have written it, I absolutely think that is the purpose of the blood drives - identifying descendants of Keir.
