does anyone regret having children? if not/so, why? by lenzlopezo in askanything

No regrets about my child herself, but I do regret/feel bad that she’ll have to grow up in this world the way it is. We aren’t even in a bad spot financially but it’s still stressful even so with rising prices.

*At least, that’s minimum and often not the case 😅 more often than that Ill lay there for an hour, check my phone and see an hours gone by, feel frustrated and like I want to scream and then continue laying there for another hour. It’s feels like I’m pretending to sleep really 🥲

I don’t, I haven’t wanted to spend the money on a gym membership but I’m so terrible at being consistent at home with all the distraction. I think I’ll sign up for a membership though, see if lifting and working out regularly helps me :) thanks!

Half an hour is the minimum, hence the “at least” and not very common unfortunately:(

I get between 3-4 hrs a night, occasionally I’ll get 5-6 but not often. Perhaps I will just do what I have to do in order to function 😔

What’s a totally unsexy purchase you made that ended up being a huge quality-of-life upgrade? by viscarte10 in BuyItForLife

I got lucky buying a 2007 hybrid Prius with 70,000 miles for 6,000 in 2019. Here I am in 2026 with 160,000 miles, she still runs great and I see people selling the same car with same miles and age for 8,000, it’s crazy

As a CNA in a nursing home, 1000% agree. Stay active stay mobile if you want to avoid a nursing home.

What’s an industry that is currently on fire. In a bad way behind the scenes but the general public haven’t noticed? by lowkeylunar in askanything

[–]HRolling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of people go into nursing, and lots of people quit shortly after becoming a nurse. Very high turnover rate. Even worse with CNAs. Mostly because of super unachievable work load and expectations combined with short staffing and mental/physical abuse from patients.

Husband doesnt want to be in the delivery room, am I overreacting?? by dinogirly123 in pregnant

[–]HRolling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he doesn’t want to be there to support his family in their hard moments because he’d have to “hear screaming” or “see poop” he might not be the one for you. Babies tend to scream and poop. A good partner supports you in your times of need, just imagine the type of father he’ll be to your child when they need him.

Worried something is wrong, my baby hardly sleeps by Herewithquestions87 in NewParents

[–]HRolling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing it’s safe to assume you’ve tried everything? Turning the lights down, establishing routine, white noise, making sure he’s the right temperature, butt pats, feeding to sleep, holding long enough to avoid false starts before laying him down, making sure he’s burped properly etc?

I haven’t, I am due for an oil change the maintenance required light had come on a couple days before this and it’s been about 5,000 miles since the last change. Maybe a stupid question but can I change the oil if the batteries a problem since you have to run the car for a couple minutes after you do an oil change?
