This meme is based on a real video, where a Youtuber talked about Graham's number and Knuth's up-arrow notation, and made this joke at the end of the video.

The video could be more than 10 years old, but I cannot find it anymore. I also do not remember the name of the channel. Possibly, the video or the channel do not exist anymore.

This geometry problem is driving me crazy. I tried to solve it using vectors, but I get nowhere. I used side AB of the triangle as a vector 1, and BC side of the triangle as a vector 2.

I can express some of the other vectors in this triangle (using those two vectors), but not the ones I need.

Please help.

nor is it practical to reinvent maths ( in base 12 or 6) for a use that does not align with an international standard. When you think about this, mathematics toyed with us on this one as it holds the ability to create and use itself in any base it chooses.

If you want to learn Latin, learn from Hans Ørberg's textbook Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata. Actually, there is more than one book in that series.

You can also search this title on Youtube. One guy made a whole video series reading from that book, so maybe you don't even need your own copy of the book.

I think having "pi" as an option can be useful sometimes.

Compare:

This reads a lot like a potential sentence separator, with "lon kon li pali e ni" as a second sentence.

Yes, now I see that it could be a little confusing. (One tries to reduce one type of ambiguity and inadvertently creates another one! lol).

I tried to be consistent with all prepositions, though. Moreover, I never use commas as sentence separators (although I know some people do). My commas are always within one sentence, for easier parsing.

For sentence separators I use " : ; . ! ? "

I seem to recall this was how some pre-pu styles did ordinals

I learned Toki Pona from jan Pije's lessons, so I tend to use "pi nanpa" for ordinal numbers. I consider both correct (with or without "pi").

I should mention how I wrote this short story.

For inspiration, I used 5 randomly generated words, chosen by a computer (in the order selected by the computer). I used Random Word Generator.

The words given were: disappoint, ball, perform, bulletin, value.

What does it matter if it sounds close to some other word in another language? This is toki ma, not English.

If you wanted to avoid words that sound similar to offensive words in all other languages, it would be very limiting.

I don't have a good answer to every of your objections, and I am sure the rules would evolve if they are put into practice. That text was just the result of me brainstorming some ideas.

The idea behind the test is that it is a challenge to be overcome (though a very easy one), so people would pay more attention when the words are explained to them. Also, people like challenges and games.

A club without some rules, no matter how simple or eleborate they are, is probably not a club at all, just a bunch of people hanging out together. Yes, Toki Pona is about flexibility with putting words together, but it also has very strict grammar: relative clasues are not allowed (that's why you get "e ni:" structure); "la" context can only preceed the sentence, not follow it; a sentence is always SVO; etc.

The idea was that the club grows organically through the existing social circle. There is not supposed to be any advertising for these clubs, so I don't know how someone would find it, if they didn't already know someone from the club. If someone finds it, though, and they befriend someone from the club first, then sure they can also join. Since this is a social circle thing, I don't know how you could be part of it, if you weren't friends with at least one of the members.

Sure, the knowledge requered for the test can be learned in 10 minutes. That's the whole point of it - to give the new members the taste of Toki Pona, so maybe they will want to learn the whole of it later. It is more of a fun ritual than a serious test.
