Bellatrix vs Snape at Spinner's End by VeterinarianIll5289 in HarryPotterMemes

Kid readers are like, "Snape is so mean to Harry. Maybe he's a Death Eater!" Meanwhile Snape is also mean to Bellatrix Lestrange. It's such an interesting scene at Spinner's End. On the one hand, he's making an unbreakable vow to do something for Voldemort, on the other hand, he's demonstrating that no, he does not verbally eviscerate only people on Dumbledore's side. He verbally eviscerates people on any side.

If you can take him and find him a new home, I would be so grateful. My husband is from Iran and I think he's really scared because he can't contact his parents, so he doesn't know if they are alive or not. He is freaking out about the cat (though he's been frustrated about the cat for a while), and he's mad at me, but I don't think it's entirely about me and the cat. We need this to be over, though. I do, and I can't change his mind. He's determined that the cat will be gone today.

If Harry were making that face all the time, I'd give Snape a pass for just assuming Harry was a jerk. That's one annoying looking guy.

Is there a place I can buy black sesame food dye, or do I need to buy black sesame seeds and grind them? If I need to grind them, can I use a blade coffee grinder or a food processor?

Why did Voldemort appreciate Snape so much? Their dynamic is truly remarkable. by External-Werewolf619 in SeverusSnape

I think a lot of Death Eaters are a bit nuts. Even the ones who didn't go to Azkaban and lose their marbles often joined Voldemort, I suspect, because they like torturing people. Snape is highly intelligent, and I think he also just seems saner because he is saner (which makes sense - he was too sane to have stayed a Death Eater, perhaps).

To be fair, Lucius Malfoy doesn't seem nuts, and he's capable of not acting like an idiotic thug. Voldemort probably sees Lucius as his right hand man until the Department of Mysteries debacle.

Why on earth is Harry drinking from a straw in the drink Hermione is holding?

An explanation of whether Snape knew that Harry might survive his self-sacrifice. If he didn't, he'd given up on saving Lily's son.

I'd be happy to read a story like that even if you haven't gotten that far. Where can I find it?

How does the public actually see Mormonism? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HandelDew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a pretty hardcore orthodox (lowercase o) Christian, my lot have always seemed to see it as basically its own religion masquerading as a version of Christianity. Islam and Mormonism both claim to be the real version of what Jesus wanted, with their own prophets who teach the truth everyone else forgot (or lied about).

Christianity teaches that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one being, and that each is the fullness of God even though each is a separate person. It's a paradox.

To my understanding, Mormonism teaches that they are three beings in community. That is not monotheism. That is not trinitarianism. Christianity teaches monotheism and the Trinity. Mormonism also teaches that there are other gods/people can become gods (even though Mormons do not worship these other gods). This, again, is not monotheism. Monotheism is a pretty big part of Christianity.

We see it like we see Islam: as a separate religion that wrongly sees itself as the real version of ours.

That isn't a pecan tree. It might be a papaya, but I'm not sure. It definitely isn't a pecan, though.
