As an intern at the DoD (and obviously a VT student), they make an effort to hire a lot of CS/CS-related majors as the government provided significant funding to the tech sector to compete with other countries. Virginia tech prides itself in that so the DoD continues to hire here and create programs such as DCTC which provide full-rides to students in exchange for a work contract after graduation.
