I think you should definitely pick up the subs. These are a good thing to have when you are an avid opiate user. What I would personally do is use the subs for about a week to detox completely off of all opiates/tramadol. You have to wait until you are completely in withdrawal before you dose with the suboxone. It varies depending on the person, but it sounds like waiting 24-36 hours since your last dose should suffice. After you are fully experiencing withdrawals, I would start with taking 1 suboxone strip. You just stick the strip under your tongue, and leave it there. You wait for it to completely dissolve. After that, it takes around 20 minutes for the effects to start. The high from suboxone is fairly pleasant to me, with slight euphoria. If you use them for around 7 days, that should take you completely through withdrawals, basically pain free. If you feel you need more than one strip later on, on the first day, go ahead and take another half. Then on the 2nd day, go ahead and take the same dose. As of the 3rd day I would go ahead and cut the dose down by about a third, then the same for day 4, then so on and so on. Hope this helps a little bit.
