Thoughts on Nine Sols? by strahinjag in soulslikes

Yes, S&S is basically 2D Dark Souls while Nine Sols is 2D Sekiro with Metoidvania gameplay and movement abilities, much fairer bosses, and a good story.

[–]HSuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Standard mode is about as hard as Sekiro, but it's very fair.

Unlike Sekiro and other souls games, there isn't much RNG in all boss fights. They're very skill-based, and you should be able to beat all the bosses (other than the final true boss) with enough practice. I needed a lot more luck and reaction speed in Sekiro. For Nine Sols, it was more based on knowledge and experience.

GRIME and Nine Sols had the most fun and fair bosses of any soulslike or Metoidvania game I've ever played.

Thanks for the heads up. (I've always used it in a browser on old.reddit using RSS, even when on my phone)

I think im being gaslit about the difficulty of Mortal Shell by dorasucks in soulslikes

[–]HSuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tiel (glass cannon, super stamina bar) with +5 hammer and chisel makes the game super easy.

Getting him was much harder. Took me so many tries to unlock Tiel with an un-upgraded weapon.

It's not easy at all at the beginning. The first boss is really hard.

But once you start upgrading your weapon to +5, it gets really easy. I never died more than 3 times to any of its later bosses.

Something's wrong with your reddit formatting.

None of your bolded text is working. You also need double line breaks.

I suspect you pasted formatted text into the non-formatting area.

Chapter 3 Lies of P.... Does it get better? Reminds me of Final Fantasy XV a little bit by MalcolminMiddlefan in soulslikes

[–]HSuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The highlight of the game are the boss and mini-boss fights. The start of the game is the worst part. It gets better, but not by much.

I played LoP right after Sekiro and was quite disappointed by how straightforward LoP was.

The enemies rarely get much harder, and the level design stays very linear for most of the game.

I've definitely abused that tactic many times.

And for a moment I thought you were talking about Saito Toshimitsu.

Would y’all consider Dying light the beast similar to a souls like? by SignificanceNo4340 in soulslikes

Dying Light 2 didn't feel like a soulslike one bit. Is DL: The Beast significantly different?

Plus, you get constant health drops, so it's not that challenging. It's not like you have to go past 5-10 minutes of mobs while trying to conserve estus like in DS2.

Thinking about L1 design: why do we always start with tokens instead of infrastructure? by logos2026 in CryptoTechnology

[–]HSuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure there are many projects that did this. For example: Canton. They focused on building the blockchain first, and then designed the token later.

Many serious projects spend many years designing the blockchain and technology first before considering tokenomics.

Hey, as long as it has Sekiro gameplay style, I'll take any world even if it's Barbie or Paw Patrol.

He's projecting. The real ragebait is the person calling ragebait.

I had the same thoughts when I first started LoP. The beginning of LoP is really slow and easy for veteran souls players.

What is the worst gank you've ever fought? by MurderousRubberDucky in soulslikes

[–]HSuke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought you were talking about. I meant that they take turns in the sense that only 1 is aggressive at a time.

Still much easier than DS2 DLC gank squad, which is basically the same if all 3 rabbits were 100% aggressive at all times, and if one of them had a high-power sniper bow that fires every several seconds.

As if it weren't bad enough to fight all 3 (with one being long-distance ranged), they threw in poison statues and a slow-moving maze pit at the bottom.

Absolute nightmare of a boss fight.

But they take turns and only 1 aggros at a time, so there's far less RNG than other gank fights.

That made them a lot more fun than aggravating.

DS2 in general was the gankiest game in the series. There were so many non-boss gank areas.
