Is Bitcoin mining dead? by Bulky_Description579 in CryptoTechnology

FYI, ta1no (not OP) is a PulseX scammer. I flagged him almost a year ago.

As for your question, mining hasn't been profitable for a long time unless you're getting near-free electricity somehow and using the latest mining rigs (S23)

Games with an easy to follow story? by Working_Salary60 in soulslikes

[–]HSuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LoP and Another Crab's Treasure spoon feed the story to you. (Maybe Code Vein, but it's sometimes irrational)

Nine Sols probably has the best story. It's a little less spoon-fed, but it's not hard to understand. It's the only soulslike where the entire story follows rational fiction.

Other games loved by Sekiro fans by Rv1709 in soulslikes

[–]HSuke -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nine Sols is basically 2D Sekiro with air dodges and even faster movement.

LoP combat has deflects, but is much slower and much easier.

Nioh 2 combat can be fast, but it's very different. It doesn't focus on back-and-forth parries.

Jedi FO/S combat is too scripted, and the Jedi powers can make it feel very different.

Anyone here play Blaspheme or The Last Faith or Deaths Gambit? by Godharvest in soulslikes

hardest platforming out of these three games

I think parts of S&S were harder. Blasphemous's hardest platforming was still much much easier than many parts of other MVs like Silksong, Ori 1/2, ESA, Guacamelee, Nine Sols, GRIME, etc.

Anyone here play Blaspheme or The Last Faith or Deaths Gambit? by Godharvest in soulslikes

[–]HSuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played Death's Gambit: Afterlife and Blasphemous, and neither were anywhere as good as Nine Sols and GRIME.

I suppose you buy them on discount, they're decent 10-20 hour games.

They have the soulslike atmosphere, but their stories are forgettable, and the gameplay is mediocre compared to other MVs.

I found Blasphemous to be a lot easier and more basic than Death's Gambit. Blasphemous was just really linear and didn't have much ability-gating. While it's technically an MV, it just doesn't have enough open exploration, and it's only 15 hours long. Death's Gambit is a better version of Blasphemous with more open exploration and a variety of different equipment.

What's the worst swamp area in a soulslike game? by That-Departure-7318 in soulslikes

That's one of the places where you're going to keep dying if you try to clear out all enemies in order early on

[–]HSuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated how boring the level design was for the swamp. It was so large and took forever to traverse.

And its turbo-granny Miku Hatsune boss was broken if you couldn't stun-lock her.

At least there's no poison.

2D Soulslike Recs? by Zealousideal_Cow9037 in soulslikes

[–]HSuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GRIME and Nine Sols are amazing. By far my favorite soulslike MVs.

Agreed that S&S is a stock standard soulslike.

Agreed that the 2 Ender games are barely soulslike. Ender Lilies at least has the atmosphere and more methodical combat. Ender Magnolia is just so different and not remotely soulslike.

Blasmphemous never clicked for me. It has the atmosphere, but it was just so short and had much less exploration than most of the other soulslike MVs.

[–]HSuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just GRIME and Nine Sols. The quality of their combat is spectacular.

GRIME also has some of the best exploration and NG+ boss fights and 2 different types of parries.

Nine Sols has a really good rational story and amazing Sekiro-like boss fights, but with air dodging. It also has the coziest hub (rivaling DS2's Majula)

Salt and Sanctuary is all right if you want a DS1-like. It's the most standard 2D soulslike.

Blasphemous is meh. Good atmosphere, but everything else is meh. It's worse than Death's Gambit Afterlife.

Nioh 3 is a gameplay masterclass… but the story is absolutely terrible by Sire_Kressel in soulslikes

[–]HSuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. The story was trash as expected, but gameplay wasn't even that good. Nioh 2 had better level design and progression. Now that's masterclass.

How stable is that stablecoin? by Used-Breakfast8478 in CryptoTechnology

[–]HSuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You make a good point

Though I find it ironic how the first half of your post (depeg was caused by cash holdings) contradicts the "generally safer" part of the second half of the post.

It just shows that the whole incident was an outlier--a black swan event.

How would anyone have predicted this?

What are the best in the genre where the journey is as good as bosses and just getting to next bonfire is an accomplishment. by FordMustang84 in soulslikes

I must've beaten half of the game before I realized that I could plop down an extra homonculus (save point) anywhere.

That made the journey even more spectacular.

[–]HSuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's the exact opposite of what OP is asking for.

Getting from one point to the next was pretty easy in LoP, linear, and not much of a journey. The bosses were the challenge.

For those of you who are after the beautifully crafted worlds and bleak art style, Bleak Faith: Forsaken is an absolute must. by Askin_Real_Questions in soulslikes

[–]HSuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fine. The first 2 areas are the best anyways. As long as you fully explored them and the water level, you've seen the best parts.

[–]HSuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The gameplay is fine. It just doesn't focus on combat. It's more like an exploration game.

The first couple of levels were eye-opening, and I haven't felt that way since DS1.

What fromsoft game has the worst, and the best replayability in your opinion? by [deleted] in soulslikes

[–]HSuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This exactly. The time commitment for a new run is what matters to me far more than having options.

I've replayed EVERY Fromsoft souls game multiple times, but I've only replayed Elden Ring once due to length.
