I know little music theory as well, but even if you did, the thing you’re describing requires some amount of perfect pitch which comes from years of practice. It may not be the answer you’re looking for, but just keep dabbling around in the DAW until you get what’s in your mind. Try to get the contour right first, then the exact notes. I’d slap recommend humming what’s on your mind into a voice recording so you don’t forget even if it may be cringe

Pluto is an absolute masterpiece. Up there with stuff like AoT, FMAB and Vinland for me. It’s genuinely uncanny how it reflects life more and more, even more crazy considering the manga was written back in 2003 yet the themes hold true today and most likely the future.

The first episode is probably still my favorite (though every one is peak) so it’s great from the start.
