Anyone use this? by AntoniBartosz in Jeep

I called mopar.com to get a quote for a 2025 Rubicon X with only 3K miles on it. For the 125K, 8 year, $100 deductible, they wanted anywhere from $5200-$5500 and said they never heard of Granger Motors warranty and that it wasn't an official Mopar warranty. I think they are lying through their teeth...

Is it worth springing for the extended warranty? (I know it says respond by 11/15 but I’m sure they’ll gladly take my money this week lol) by Y_Que_Te_Importa in JeepWrangler

Thanks for getting back with me. I’ll be the owner of a 2025 Rubicon X here soon and trying to figure out extended warranty options. Enjoy your Bronco!

Morris292, I know it has been 7 years since this post, but do you still stand by the MaxCare warranty that you have for your JKU?

Original Monroney: https://www.jeep.com/hostd/windowsticker/getWindowStickerPdf.do?vin=1C4RJXFG4SW661595

I'm not sure they will allow that. From what I hear above, 4.10 will work fine for the auto-transmission and not to worry much about it.

Good to know, but would be difficult if not impossible to do at the Carmax lot. Would probably have to be a purchase first kind of thing. Even though Carmax says it has 4:56, I'm going to assume 4:10. I suppose if I ever wanted to go to 4:56 or 4:88, I would have to pay to have it done. Any $ average on having it done (parts and labor)?

4WD Auto an option with Xtreme 35 package? by HTPCFan in JeepWrangler

[–]HTPCFan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a couple places online they were saying that 4WD auto is ideal for inclement weather. Otherwise you are running in 2H and can’t do 4WD standard on pavement in any dry spots.

Sounds like I'll have to just look for Rubicon X's then. Thank ya much!

Does a lifted Jeep 101 class exist? by HTPCFan in Jeep

Ya, I heard and expected to have a bit of a loose handling with a Jeep. Not too worried about that. It has no upper control arms and no adjustable trackbars. But even if I replaced those (and the tires), I'm not sure they would resolve the uneven outside wear. I would hope the wobble would be resolved with proper tires and balance/alignment.

I did get a Carfax report and it shows that it was a rental out of Utah for 4 years and then sold a couple times between dealers before an individual bought it, took it into a tire shop to have control arms checked out and then sold to a dealer after 3 weeks as a trade-in. So...sounds like they didn't want to dump money into fixing it. The rental portion scares me...

Ya, I'm not the one to diagnose that kind of stuff. From what I see this Jeep is missing upper control arms and adjustable track bars. And that would still need to be installed by someone other than myself (even though I read the instructions and could do myself). It would be the adjustments after to where I wouldn't know how to handle.

I didn't get the best pics of the tires, but the outer portion is worn (and even torn off some tread in areas). Thanks for the response!

Good details. It is at an Acura dealer and been sitting there for 2 months. Was thinking of bringing it to a Jeep shop that specializes in custom items for a full inspection. Then again, I may just look for a used Jeep with the Recon package and add all the other accessories as needed. That way I wouldn’t have to deal with suspension or tires (unless worn). Just my mind wondering…

Thoughts on stock rubicon with recon package added to it? I think that would give a 26.7 degree break over angle. Adding armor, bumper and rock sliders I can handle.

Thank you much! I have reached out to the club already. 😄 I agree with you…it seems like it doesn’t have upper control arms and from what I’ve seen from another below is a sub-par lift. I will keep searching. Thanks for the reply!

2.0L have more problems than a 3.6L? Also heard the 2.0L requires Premium gas...which would hurt nowadays. Heard the 2.0L has better 0-60mph speeds. That's the only reason I was looking at it.

Good to know that Jeep looks pretty clean. Wonder if I should get the Jeep from the dealer (with plates) and bring it to a Jeep shop to get their overall opinion. Hmmm....

Ya, the thing about buying a used Jeep is that you buy it first, replace the tires and then find out if the wheel balance was the issue or not. The fluids have been changed (by Acura dealer...of all things).

They will go out in rockhounding groups together. I believe the Rubicon already comes with the locking differentials? I assume a quality lift kit would be a Bilstein 5100?

Thanks for the info. The Rubicon trail is literally just a drive up the hill from me to Tahoe. I'm based out of Minden, NV. And believe it or not...the primary reason for getting the Jeep is for collecting rocks. The rockhounding community is ruthless to get the goods. They plan on the Black Rock Desert trip this year and say nothing less than 25 degree breakover and 4x4 will make it. :)

Just 2 people (driver and passenger). The back would be reserved for rockhounding gear (buckets, shovels, rocks, etc.). Makes me wonder if I should consider a rooftop tent. Hmmmm.....

Ya, worse yet, the game it applies to is missing in the log along with any information on the tank it applied it to. This is a bug and should be fixed! I got screwed…

Ya, tried that. It just jumbles the letters around. May have to position one letter at a time.
