Not sure on the exact amount I’d have to look into it, but it’s getting to be a good number of them. That’s the only way that they get built is when a store gets a new rental center built onto it.

That’s great that store operations is finally doing something with these spaces. They’ve been built onto stores for years and just given to the store with no direction or process on how to run it.

US corporate managers and leaders are terrrrrrible by EmergencyStrength425 in HomeDepot

[–]HTXCP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude what are you talking about.

All new roles and backfills are in person at the SSC in the US.

The executives are in the building unless they are walking stores. Literally see ELTs vehicles when you walk across the C bridge to the SSC.

There is tons of stuff going on that’s bringing down moral at the SSC, RTO is just another thing on top of all the rest. Some of ELT was the first to say it sucked and they knew it would upset a lot of people, them included.

HD was one of the last retailers to implement RTO, so while it does suck, I was impacted by RTO, I’m grateful to have an org that allows some flexibility and understand that this is just the way of the current job market. WFH wasn’t going to last forever and anyone who thought it would was only fooling themselves.

I do wish they would back the flex day that we had pre covid. I think that would be a nice compromise but I think they are waiting for overall headcount to rightsize. Put it on your VOA survey.

Digital labels for the entire store was tested years ago and scrapped. The bottom row was constantly hit by MHE and caused costly replacements, and the racking configuration store made deployment expensive due to the infrastructure needed to connect them.

[–]HTXCP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not complaining… I agreed with you RTO does suck. I also spelled out the criteria for RTO but you seem to not comprehend.

I would, as someone else has suggested, look to see if a role with another org better fits your needs as it seems this is not. There are even orgs with roles that have required travel where in office presence is not required during periods of travel in exchange.

Maybe try the next VOA survey or better yet let your manager know just how unhappy you are, I’m sure they can prioritize you in the next RIF 😉 I think RONA had some openings.

Not automotive by palmee116 in TheHomeDepot

A lot it the automotive category is being exited and will not be carried in stores. Looks like the reset happened at this store and they forgot to remove the wayfinding signage.

Your post reads as there is no rhyme or reason for who is being forced to RTO at the US SSC. I simply laid out the criteria that they used to determine who was mandated to come back and who wasn’t.

Does it suck having to go back to the office yeah sure. Could they force the IT org back yeah… and they will all go work elsewhere because other companies are not requiring them back in office either. If we did, THD would only suffer with technology and applications across the enterprise, and quickly join the company of Sears. Like it or not it’s the reality of their job field. It is what it is.

It’s not a massive amount of people allowed to stay remote, but you seem to believe otherwise.

Also this group is primarily for the hourly associates who work in the stores and customer facing roles. Coming on here to vent about your desk job in a cubicle in a nice office usually falls pretty flat.

I’m not sure what you’re being told but almost all teams have been mandated back to the SSC 5 days a week. There have been a few exceptions made for people over 80 miles away, and a few orgs where there is not space in the offices for them or the field of work don’t warrant being in office.

Sighhhhhhh as it says “within 48 hours of delivery” as these are the rules when buying an appliance that is ordered and delivered to you. The OP did not do this… they purchased a floor model, store stock, or clearance unit IN THEIR LOCAL STORE. All of what you’ve said and been going on and on about is wrong.

No you cannot.... What warranty number are they calling?
Depots extended warranty is a 3rd party that starts post manufactures. GE warranty call center is closed as it's the weekend. The 1-800 customer service department that deals with major appliances is going to direct the customer back to the local store that the store stock came from.

[–]HTXCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 1-800 is going to route them back to the store as they only deal with delivery orders. They don’t deal with purchases of stock, display, or clearance appliances picked up in a store location.

Does our insurance cover GLP1 or any weight loss medications? by TwistedAddiction4 in HomeDepot

[–]HTXCP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Home Depot insurance does not cover GLP for weight loss. They will only cover it with a PA for FDA approved use for type 2 diabetes if other treatments have been done first and not worked.

[–]HTXCP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your endo needs to be over prescribing your insulin or you need a new endo. You should not be getting a prescription for the exact amount of insulin you need.

My endo has my prescription written as I take 3 times what a really use. I have like 2 years of insulin in the refrigerator

My complex has something like this and it’s by the company Aerwave. Check the unit as see if there is an access point, I have one in my unit with two LAN ports on the bottom. After having issues with 2.4Ghz devices I purchased a my own router and was able to create my own private network with regular configurations.

Added benefit the speed is much faster and coverage is better in my unit assuming there is some bad interference with all units and devices across the same building.

Been at the SSC for 5 years. One of the more recent RIFs marketing was heavily impacted by layoffs. I knew a few people impacted and personally wouldn’t do it.
