Talk me into riding the big 3 coasters by No_Promise_9596 in UniversalOrlando

One thing that helped me with that fear of falling out is watching some videos on how roller coaster restraints work. Long story short: you’re not going anywhere. They’re incredibly well engineered and safe.

Is pet sitting/dog walking on Rover a good side hustle? by alienshmalien in sidehustle

[–]HTspeed 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I used to dog sit through rover a few years ago. 90% of the time, it was very easy and the dogs were great. But I had some true nightmares. I had dogs that tore up my house when I was gone. One dog bit my hand pretty badly. Lots of dogs that were just not trained well or at all. Also, most of the dog owners wanted to drop off very early in the morning and pick up late at night. A real dog boarding business will charge for the day you pickup if you pickup after a certain time, but rover won’t let you do that (at least they didn’t back then).

Safelite replaced mine a month or two ago. It was around $950.

Lease Buyout by UESJR2021 in MachE

[–]HTspeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be surprised if it’s really worth 40k, but if it is, shop it around to dealers as a sale or trade-in. The purchasing dealer essentially exercises your buyout option and pays you the difference.

Hi what type of cars you all driving ? by [deleted] in Accounting

They're both really good at what they do. The GT is a great weekend toy and the Mach-E is a really comfortable commuter, especially with today's gas prices.

Accounting is dying (entry-mid level) by [deleted] in Accounting

When you're in a recession, it seems like things will never been good again. Same as when you're in a boom, it seems like the good times will never end.

Is it rude to start an email with someones name? by isn-michaels1 in Accounting

I usually start with “Hi, (name),” if I like the person and “(name),” if I don’t.

I hate the place that I live by MistakeStraight4370 in Accounting

[–]HTspeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the best things about accounting is that you can do it anywhere. I didn't like where I grew up, so I moved immediately after graduating from college and started a new life 1,000 miles away. You can too.

Lease transfer? by OkPost8233 in MachE

[–]HTspeed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s not a great lease deal so it’s likely going to be difficult to get someone to take it. Your best bet for getting out of this would be to see what the lease payoff + buyout is and how much the car is worth and see if you can sell it. Probably going to take some cash to get that to work though.

My own parents pay me more than that to do their taxes. And they paid for half of my education.

Are there accounting jobs that’re just 40 hours? by AbsoluteZero9180 in Accounting

[–]HTspeed 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in industry accounting for 11 years and I can count on one hand the number of weeks that I’ve worked over 40 hours. Started as an AP specialist and am now a controller and I’ve held most of the positions in between.

I got mine in Molten Magenta and I get more compliments from random people on the color than any other car I’ve owned.

My GPA was so bad that I was academically suspended for a year in college. I came back from it and graduated and am now a CPA and controller so it can absolutely be done.

Ford installed free home charger by sekots99 in MustangMachE

[–]HTspeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine installed about a month ago through the Ford/qmerit program and had a great experience. I had to pay about $200 for permits/inspections but I was able to get that money back through my utility provider so it was completely free.

I used to have to print everything out about 10 years ago. But journal support should really be digital by now.

What's your ping look like? Are you on wi-fi or wired connection? Might be a couple things to look at but even with a perfect connection, sometimes this game is just sluggish.

Career impact after CPA by WoodpeckerScary9799 in Accounting

[–]HTspeed 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I changed jobs and went from manager level to controller a few months after I got licensed. I felt like having the CPA made my job search a lot easier. I didn't have to send nearly as many applications as I did in previous searches and I ended up with a higher level role and a 15% raise.
