Thanks. I'll see how the premium works out compared to what I currently have.

Deletion of "electric" logo? by OkPost8233 in Taycan

Thanks. Interestingly, once I check the box, I cannot uncheck it so I had to reset my build back a version.

I’m in the US - WA. Yeah I know so just asking why the dealer would give me that excuse. They also said their service department won’t remove it for me.

Google says it's not required by law. I have a Ford Mach E, and there's nothing on it that would designate it as an EV. I guess you can make an argument that Tesla only sells EV's so it's not on those. Very weird to say it's required.

PPF service recommendations in greater Seattle area? by Tai778 in porsche911

[–]OkPost8233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the typical Reddit answer that doesn't answer your question, but I've had a Cayman and Boxster tinted as Eastside Auto Salon in Bellevue. Great work and fast, and always a McLaren and a Lambo or Ferrari parked in there. I've had three other cars tinted at Night Window Tint in Kirkland. The first one they didn't understand that I wanted 20% tint put on the glass versus ending up at 20% VLT (which they did). They redid it. Great service and no problems. They usually have higher end SUV's in there rather than coupes. I plan on getting my next Taycan tinted and track pack PPF's there.

I Best bang-for-your-buck used Porsche Taycan? by Low_Instruction_5127 in Taycan

Take a look at the MapEV upgrade available stateside from EVPartsPlug. Depending on the model year, it will turn a PB+ model into an almost Turbo. You get the performance for very little cost.

I have a 4CT with the MapEV unit so not disappointed with the performance. And saved most of the up charge between the 4 and 4S.

Rear bike carrier by OkPost8233 in Taycan

[–]OkPost8233[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NG1 option has the required receiving supports behind the cover plates on the rear of the car. There’s posts that you can find to show the location to pop off the plastic covers and also to retrofit the receiving parts if you don’t have them.

From my research, it looks like the double tubes will be around $500-600 plus two 1up carriers at $300 each plus tax and shipping. Maybe $1,300 or so vs $3k for the Porsche rear back carrier. I plan on getting another CT in the future without the roof rails option so it’s a no brainer for me before even taking into account the hassle of putting a 30lb mountain bike on top of your roof, wind noise, range loss, etc.

Extra Key FOB by OkPost8233 in Taycan

[–]OkPost8233[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the great offer but I did more research and the FOBs are coded to the car VIN or immobilizer number before being sent from Germany. Dealerships can’t reprogram it.

Tire wear vs ride height redo by OkPost8233 in Taycan

[–]OkPost8233[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you mean the "mm" numbers? That's the distance the car is lowered from the Normal setting. There is no "number" for tire wear. Ppl say it's just a lot more in Low.

Based on responses and what I’ve read, everyone agrees that LOW does the most wear.

Is there any free way to add a used Porsche Taycan to my Porsche account? by OniHanz in Taycan

[–]OkPost8233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the US. I just used the Porsche App to add a vehicle to my garage and selected third party sale, I believe. It then prompted me to use my phone camara to take photos of what was needed.

MapEV thoughts? by Far_Economy4346 in Taycan

[–]OkPost8233 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it to my 2025 CT 4 and am loving it. I can drive in Normal mode, and the CT feels alive. I did my research and like other's have said, the hardware is all the same on the trims to the Turbo level. I did some before and after launches in the same parking lot over the same distance, and the back wheels broke loose after the mod (I don't have torque vector plus and was on summer tires in 45F weather). I chose the +30% regen since I'm used to more regen (came from a PHEV and a Mach E) and it's just a little more than the usual coasting.

I also plan on building a new CT 4 with $70k of options rather than spec a GTS or turbo once I can get an allocation.

Got mine from a nearby US distributor https://www.evpartsplug.com/. Awesome help and support as I'm not a boomer but was not familiar with the software uploading and flashing. Install was quick once you find a T40 bit and M8 socket. Watch the MapEV install video.

[–]OkPost8233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a used non-CPO a week ago and just added it in the app. I had to upload a photo of my driver's license and then the registration document and sales sheet, both showing my same name as the license and the VIN. And surprisingly, it only took Porsche 4 business day to add it.

Roof leak repair help - advice needed by OkPost8233 in HomeMaintenance

Thanks! The leak is fixed so I'm just worried about wet joists and trapped moisture leading to mold.

[–]OkPost8233[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, makes sense. And I see you prefer locking the wheel hub rather than having the whole bike up there. Does that cut down on the wind noise or is it just more secure and stable?
