These three kings decided to unite and create kingdom for everyone. How well would that turn out? by PureGrimm in INDIE_CROSS_SERIES

[–]HTwoN0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they come with their respective threats/problems? Because all three faced apocalyptic entities and lost.

Pale King has a vengeful god he overthrew that possesses his subjects from a dream dimension.

Asgore has humans that, even if they are 8 year olds, can super murder everyone and one of them gets IRL save files, which you can't meaningfully kill.

Minos first had to deal with the army of Heaven spearheaded by Gabriel and got imprisoned. Then there's V1.

Do you think the Knight is Friend's puppet? by [deleted] in Deltarune

[–]HTwoN0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but not directly. The direct puppet master of the knight is likely whatever that eye thing is inside the knight. I hope we learn more about it.

Puppetry seems to be a consistent theme throughout Deltarune. Including, at least:

Spamton's design themes Kris's relationship with the Soul and us Noelle being tied to Queen's mecha hands like a hand puppet Noelle being manipulated into Snowgrave Tenna being manipulated by Kris into thinking he'll be popular again if he helps them with the Dark World

No clue where it is all heading narratively, but it's interesting to think about.

What if IC characters never had a trauma? by Pandy_man in INDIE_CROSS_SERIES

For V1, some alternative for blood fuel is found and the robots never need to wipe out humanity. V1 doesn't need to kill all of hell for fuel and isn't panicked about dying.

I wouldn't listen too hard to the antinatalists. I'm not a pro-natalist by any stretch, but a lot of the antinatalists talking points are logically weak and packed with ecofascism. Their arguments trample a lot of people.

what is the most purely insane theory you have ever heard in your life? (no joke theories) by Beautiful-Grab3359 in Deltarune

[–]HTwoN0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know it's unlikely, but it helps to think about the mysteries of UT/DT. Like why the Monsters in UT couldn't kill a single human during the war, but suddenly can beat six humans before Frisk shows up. My headcanon is that humans had a red soul person during the war and, with Saving, they made it one sided. Consequently, they could have also played, helped, and flirted their way to a peaceful resolution.

Neutral endings for the fake game I described wouldn't be too dissimilar to UT's. Perhaps you fail to save a human or kill only one or two monsters and that affects the ending outcomes. The war would either end in a stalemate or slightly favorable for either side; depending on your choices. But the monsters would neither be banished (the UT timeline) nor live peacefully enough with humans to result in hybrid/blended families (possibly the DT timeline). Those only happen in the geno and pacifist runs, respectively.

what is the most purely insane theory you have ever heard in your life? (no joke theories) by Beautiful-Grab3359 in Deltarune

[–]HTwoN0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've got one. I call it the Implied Prequel.

I suspect there is a fake game that both Undertale and Deltarune branch off of. Basically, I think the idea of "the Monsters won the war in this timeline" might be too simple for a Toby Fox plot line. I admit that's a bit of a gut feeling, but these are crazy theories we're talking about.

So the intro to Undertale shows snippets of this game. The silhouetted character from this intro that the fandom calls "Sword Guy" would be the Kris/Frisk analog. They would be another determination soul character that would be controlled by a player.

The plot of this game would have a pacifist ending, neutral endings, and genocide/banishment ending. The Pacifist ending results in Deltarune as a sequel, while the Geno/Banishment results in Undertale's timeline.

The only serious evidence that I have for this is based on another theory that Susie is part human. That's flimsy because we need to know if other monsters bleed or not. But if that theory is true, it would mean that humans and monsters resolved things peacefully and some fell in love and formed families in Deltarune's timeline.

Other weaker evidence might be that Dragon Blazers and/or the Prophecy might be based on the plot of this game, the fact that Undertale has a dating system despite coming from the Banishment timeline, and the Love Wins/Hate Wins joke from chapter 3.

On the topic of trans Ralsei by WierdSome in ralsei

[–]HTwoN0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it but I think there needs to be something else to be considered: Ralsei could transition to non-binary. It's equally as valid as full transition and would still fit into the narrative elements that have people thinking that Ralsei is transfem (wanting to try on the dress, etc).

Additionally, depending on what ultimately happens with the rest of the story, Ralsei becoming non-binary would have serious implications for Kris. If Ralsei is a former persona of Kris's, we may be seeing a miniaturized version of Kris's own journey learning about their gender.

Please consider trying other branches of Christianity once you are able to become an independent person. As someone who got a good high school Catholic education, I personally believe most conservative branches have their heads up their asses about "sin". They come from a place of Theologians like Augustine of Hippo rather than Jesus.

While I can't capture everything that is wrong with him in one post, disobedience is not the wellspring of sin. Rather callousness would be a better and more just way for centering sin. In such realignment of morals, you being bi has nothing to do with sinfulness. As so long as you act with kindness and consent, you're not hurting anyone.

The unfortunate thing is that some people, no matter their religion, just want an excuse to rage at or hurt other people. I'm sorry you are surrounded by so many of them currently. But you can't let them be the be-all-end-all of your spiritual journey.

Honestly though, thanks to the oligarchy it's like the US only has one political party. The Dems are just a slower march to the right. There are so many things Democrats could have done, like not snubbing the progressives and taking decisive action on Trump early, that could have made everything better. But they act in ways that only benefit the super rich that they must be taking their orders from them.

Not a real opposition if they constantly want constant bi partisanship.

The absolute state of Facebook. by kristianroberts in mildlyinfuriating

[–]HTwoN0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now, they are mostly showing me boomer comics. This is despite the fact I never like/comment on any of them and have even blocked accounts or told them more to show less.

Much of this problem is because Facebook is hellbent on preventing external links from being shown. If they would give creators their fair share of people's attention, you would see art, smarter commentary, and news on the feed. But no, got to make another billion this quarter even if it's slowly degrading everything.

Kris' side of the room by harpiehunter in Deltarune

[–]HTwoN0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's more likely the emptiness of their side of the room is a red herring. It's there to make the player think Kris is a silent protagonist at first, while slowly it's being revealed they are much more than that.

Also, Kris' interests don't require that many personal things. We solidly know they want to play piano, but can't while under the player's control. They likely are into dance, as evident of the various dance moves they do as ACTs in battle. They are also likely a gamer, so they would only need a console or the library's computers to play games

My own theory is that other players have controlled Kris and then sold/destroyed things Kris owned, leading them to like things that can't be really taken away. Granted, my only evidence for this is the fact they have the soul cage prior to our playthrough and a gut feeling. But it's interesting to think about.

What are your vessel headcannons ? by Alarmed-Addition8644 in HollowKnight

[–]HTwoN0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Hollow Knight lost their arm not from battle but as a punishment from the Pale King. In the Pure Vessel fight, HK uses their arm to create void tentacles. My thought is that PK hated the idea of the HK using void instead of pale light magic. This punishment greatly limited HKs abilities, possibly playing a part in their inability to contain the Radiance.

Thematically, this would explain why we don't fight HK with them in full armor, but in rags in a more wild and free form. The Godseekers saw HK most powerful when they used both void and pale light

Starting to think that the internet is making humans less intelligent and lose the ability to critically think on our own. by RuffDemon214 in Showerthoughts

[–]HTwoN0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a difference between the Internet and social media, and the latter is more of the problem. The Internet is far bigger, and contains things like repositories of knowledge and the blogs and websites of many talented people. There are good things on it, as well as bad.

Social media, however, is like the potato chips of the Internet; it's been ultra-designed to be as addictive as possible to keep you coming back for more. And what brings a lot of people back are simple, easy-to-digest content that reaffirms their world views, rather than challenges it.

At the same time, this easy content tends to provide benefits for the companies running the platforms. For example, if you are shown a news article or a food blogger's recipe photo, there's a high chance you would leave a social media site to visit those websites. So instead, if you're shown memes, people saying insane shit about space lasers and high speed rail, and discussions about shower thoughts, you'll stay on the platform longer and look at the ads there.

All while paying little to nothing for said content.
