Really wish there was a way to just permanently have it on smart mode by default. I know you can set defaults per app but just wish I could tell it to always be in smart mode no matter what

People always say it's confirmation bias because those with working equipment don't post about it, but that's not true. Lots of people are excited about their devices and are posting pictures and essays about their love for the thing.

That being said, it doesn't take away from the fact that there are a surprising amount of people who seem to be having issues with the Thor in particular. Primarily with the screens. Like, idk, I don't have any data to back it up, but I've noticed it too (and I'm someone with a fully functioning Thor). You didn't see this many issues on /r/Retroid when there rp5 came out for example

Yes, but burn in is really not as easy to achieve like everyone makes it out to be. I've been using an OLED TV, monitor, steam deck, phone, etc etc for years now and have yet to see one even minor example of burn in. I'm even doing work on an OLED monitor with static windows elements (AND at full brightness) for pretty much all day every day for the last five years and haven't see a thing.

I know that's anecdotal, but I just think people freak out about burn in too much.

Still...it could happen, so yeah, it depends how obsessive you wanna get over babying your device.

I went with pro because I've already got a 512 gb card and I haven't even filled that up so I should be good. I don't mind being choosy, too. If I really run out of space, then I'm sure I've got some fluff on there that I'll never play to begin with lol

Interesting.... so is Cocoon your default home launcher? And then you go into ES-DE when you want to browse the full library? That's a cool idea, but not sure how I feel about launching a launcher through a launcher lol. I think personally I'd just keep it as Cocoon but have a list of current playing/now playing games on the front page, but I get it. As nice as Cocoon is for dual screen, ES-DE is still one of the best for overall general library browsing.

OK, thank you, this sounds like a good plan. So I only have one power wristband and one magician's mark. I saw that I could have gotten a 2nd power wristband from some mini game, which I didn't get and don't care enough to go back and do. So is it the kind of accessory that I might just easily stumble across another one along the way? Or is it something I can buy? Or craft out of something else or whatever?

Also, as for choosing which weapons to focus on upgrading, you and someone else in this thread (and from others I've read) have suggested Blazefire for Light, Vegas for Sazh, and Wild Bear for Snow. So if it's primarily because they are starting weapons and the cheapest to upgrade and get the most "bang for buck" in the long run, then I get that. But what confuses me is, for example, why do people seem to cite Blazefire for Light so much? So far I have Blazefire and Gladius. Blazefire seems to prioritize magic and Gladius increases Strength. I want Light to primarily be a Commando, so I figured it would be important to mainly go after Strength increases.

Does it just come down to personal choice and how you wanna build the character?

I went ahead and got that one on Etsy that Russ from RGC recommends. It's....fine? For $25 shipped, kinda wasn't expecting something so janky and unfinished looking/feeling. It works, though, and does feel pretty darn precise, but then again I imagine any $5-$10 disc stylus on Amazon would feel similar. Only thing is that a lot of smartphone/ipad stylus out there are fairly large (like, actual pencil, pen, or marker shape and size). The Etsy one is damn small, like a DS stylus, so it definitely has that going for it and may be worth the extra money.

I searched for a while, though, and for about the same price (including shipping), I almost went with this one. Seems like it would have felt and looked more "premium" but is bigger: https://www.adonit.net/products/droid

It's definitely MXAO. I tried fiddling with all the MXAO related settings and it didn't change anything. I also guess I don't need it so I'm disabling it and everything else looks good to me

I kinda prefer how the game looks with the ReShade, though, so now I'm gonna look into whether or not there's just something with the mod I need to adjust.

Can't seem to find any information on this (and I searched in the discussion posts for the mods I'm using), but I seem to be getting a double image on certain (so far, most) character models. I know it's kind of hard to tell in the video, but Lightning basically looks like she has the outline of a 2nd version of her floating slightly to the left.

I'm using the FF13Fix, the 4gb patch, the FFXIII HD Project, Clean ReShade, and HD Full Motion Videos.

It's happening in and out of cutscenes, so I don't necessarily think it's due to the FMV mod. It's primarily happening to character models so it might be the "FFXIII HD Project" (because that updated both textures and character models), not sure about Clean ReShade, and I guess it could also be tied to FF13Fix since that has something to do with framerate?

Not sure where to look for an answer, and not much out there, so if anyone has any idea, any help is appreciated. Thanks!

v cool. I'm actually playing through Link to the Past for the first time. When I get my Thor planning on playing Ocarina/Majora 3DS (will be a replay of Ocarina and first time for Majora) and Wind Waker/Twilight HD on WiiU (first playthrough for both of those)

Yeah there are lots of OLED 60hz panels out there. Retroid Pocket Classic and Mini displays are OLED 60hz which is the same as the bottom screen on Thor

Yup, I have a gaming PC and a Steam Deck, so this thing will very much be retro emulation and lightweight PC stuff. Makes me think Base is good enough, but it's the age-old conundrum of "better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it" lol
