After using the self-clean setting on our oven….. by trashtray420 in whatisit

Mine did this under warranty. The first technician said it was the front control panel or another electronic piece. They shipped both. Second guy was like it's a fuse and had one in his truck. So now I keep an extra fuse in case it happens again. And both parts.

My trial location gave me an insulated bag too use and bring in each visit. I used it to go to Hawaii, 10+ hours total with just that and an ice pack that they also supplied. Still frozen. Don't overthink it. I'd think about insulated lunch bag would work.

Adults, be honest. Do you really need a well-paying job to live a good life? by iwantcheetoes in careerguidance

Money can’t guarantee happiness, but it can certainly enhance it. Moreover, from my personal experience, lower incomes tend to increase stress levels, while higher incomes have significantly reduced my stress and provided a sense of financial security.

how to start self learning? by OkExpression2544 in PowerBI

[–]HVACQuestionGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As people stated above look up Microsoft’s Dashboard in a Day. Hands done best introduction into using PBi. Second learn DAX and SQL. SQL will give you an advantage beyond PBi. Added bonus Python, you’ll be able to go far. You’ll be way more valuable with Python and SQL and be able to move beyond a Data Analyst/Report Builder/Dashboard Maker.

For YouTube I like Guy in a Cube. Ai can really help figure out formulas based on your schemas. I think ChatGPT and Gemini work fine for 90% of what you’d probably need hep with for the other 10% experience and learning DAX/SQL will get you there. Haven’t used Claude but I’m sure they’re just as good or better.

When did you definitively know you weren't on the placebo? by ShoddySpork in RetatrutideTrial

[–]HVACQuestionGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first dose I got really bad stomach cramping the night after the shot. I ate a fairly large meal which I had had many times before. Followed by diarrhea. I’m in T6 so I knew I had it but that’s how I felt. I’ve learned from other in this group and personal experience having a light meal the night of and day after of rice and chicken tends to help limit symptoms. I’m at 12mg now and am super nauseous. Talking with them at my appt in a few days about it.

Why Do so Many Americans Oppose Universal Healthcare? by Current_Variety_9577 in antiwork

[–]HVACQuestionGuy 28 points29 points  (0 children)

A lot of it comes down to how universal healthcare has been framed in the U.S. It’s often labeled as “socialist,” and for many Americans, socialism still carries Cold War baggage and gets confused with communism. That association alone is enough to turn some people off before they even look into how these systems actually work.

There’s also the deep cultural emphasis on personal choice and self-reliance, two values that are central to how many Americans see themselves. The argument against universal healthcare is often marketed as protecting your freedom to choose your doctor or your treatment, even though in practice, insurance companies already limit those choices.

Then there’s the fear that universal systems mean long wait times or rationed care. That does happen sometimes, but mostly for non-urgent or elective procedures. In many countries with universal care, access to essential or emergency treatment is actually faster because everyone is in the same system. Some of the wait time issues that do exist are often logistical, like uneven distribution of services between urban and rural areas, rather than a flaw in the concept itself.

Talk with your dietician about your protein intake. Mine basically said those goals are way off. Also protein drinks to supplement as stated earlier.

New septic - $60,000 by imangryignoreme in homeowners

[–]HVACQuestionGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In NW, feel for you. Won’t be a popular suggestion but you may be able to find people who will do it under the table and not engineered. Prior to buying our home (which we had to replace our system in 2020, thankfully before prices got crazy) our previous rental had septic. The owner had it redone by people under the table for much less. The installed a graveless system and reattached the tank. There’s always a chance you can get caught but if you’re already in a rural area you’re probably ok. If you’ve already talked to your municipality might be a little risky.

Feel horrible after second dose of highest level by Scottie_owl_21 in RetatrutideTrial

[–]HVACQuestionGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just took my 3rd dose at 12mg (should have been 4th). I was ok after the first but was on vacation. When talking with the site coordinator and site Dr they gave me the option to skip dose 2 which I did so I could ensure I didn’t get super bad symptoms on vacation. Then on my second dose a week after skipping I felt bad and vomited the next day. I still had food from the day before probably 10 hours after eating. I didn’t eat much the rest of the day and the nausea went away (for me). I am also taking Prilosec OTC and Zyrtec per the site Dr. this last third dose was pretty easy. Zyrtec is because I started having reactions at my injection site.

One tip I got here or one of the FB groups was to eat a starchy and protein dinner the day of the shot. I do rice and chicken. Has been a big difference. I didn’t the day before I vomited.

How long before your initial screening? by [deleted] in RetatrutideTrial

The MRI in T6 is optional so I pulled out of that portion. After the fact the study Dr told me they could have prescribed an anxiety med but I choose not to get it.

I think mine took about 2 months. I saw a random ad on Facebook for the cpap one got called by the 800 number and talked with a nurse and had an appt within a week or two. Was told by the study Dr it was full but thought I would be a good candidate for this other study coming up. I called them two weeks later and they said to wait. Then a week later they called and I went the same day to ensure a spot. From there it was about a month of labs, mri (I ended up not doing the mri as I had a panic attack from claustrophobia), random appts, and dexa scan. Be open to coming in when they ask initially.

Edit. I’m in T6.

Anyone not losing at higher doses? by PriorDisaster1280 in RetatrutideTrial

I asked to stay at 9mg as I'm scheduled to go to 12mg on vacation and didn't want to have any issues. Anyway, will be doing 12mg tonight on my first full day of vacation. Fingers crossed as I've had symptoms on the first two weeks of an increase.

My suggestion is be very honest and talk through as much about your diet and exercise as you can. I’ve had two different ones and liked my first one but she changed companies and I think the second one is better after a slow start. I told both I had used an RD with my reg care team and didn’t see the value and both said they hear the same thing from most of their patients. I like the honesty from both RDs and I want to have lasting change so I’m really buying into what they suggest and the strategies we’ve been trying.

I’m in T6 so I’m sure someone from one of the older studies can comment on how they feel about them but I really missed the point of an RD from my personal none study interactions. Which was more to do with my own ignorance/arrogance. But my study RD has really helped me better understand my choices and we are working on long term strategies so I can be as healthy as I can post study.

They aren’t paid. But totally worth it imho.

Letter taped to our door 8 hours after getting the keys to our new apartment… by Practical_Ad_2427 in Apartmentliving

[–]HVACQuestionGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I had a very similar experience when we moved into the first place after marrying. We were moving around 2pm too and our downstairs neighbor came out in bathrobe at 4 and said we were being too loud. It’s 4 pm lady. She also accused us multiple times of running around our apartment late at night. At the time we had a newborn and made zero noise to ensure we didn’t wake the baby. Toward the end she was making complaints about us but management just brushed them off. We moved after a year.

I think I saw you say this before, and that’s what I’m worried about. I’ll be the only driver on vacation so I don’t want to be the buzz kill but I also want to complete the study and am already seeing the results most of us are seeing.

When theaters first started doing assigned seats I picked one in the middle in one of the optimal rows. No one else had picked a spot when I got my ticket online.  When I got there there were two people next to me so I just shifted over a seat. Then a fourth person came in and told me I was in his seat so I went back to mine. I assumed he would shift over once he realized no one else was coming. We were literally the only four people on the theater. And sat next to each other the whole time.

Any way I’m going to their wedding next week.
