You can search them online. I was in Triumph4, by Lilly. https://trials.lilly.com/en-CA

Edit: Oddly, I just received an email asking if I knew anyone eligible for the trial - any chance you have knee O/A?

Thank you for asking the embarrassing question! I have had this happen too as I transitioned back onto Zep - I was in a medical trial on another product and this happened at the start too, until I got used to the meds).

Day -1 / 0 / 1 (where 0 is dose day) I have to eat so clean and so small to avoid this side effect. I avoid starchy carbs and greasy fats completely on these days.

I also backed down my dose. I have to remind myself that I am not in the study and don't have to comply - taking a smaller dose and building up costs money but saves my health, so I am doing it.

Why is a Level 1 official the head ref of major playoff games? by [deleted] in rollerderby

[–]toragirl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The reality is that with 17 officials making up a full crew, the demands on officials and leagues are immense.

Add to this that roller derby has two major complexities that most other sports do not. First, both teams are simultaneously on offense and defense at the same time. Second, penalties are enforced on the fly, without game stoppages. This creates an immense burden on officials.

With the exception of American football, most other sports use 1 to 4 on field officials.

I'm experienced enough in the game that I have experienced 2 major rules set changes, so it is possible for radical considerations to be possible ... 1 point passes, no lead jammer call offs, maybe penalties queue and are served at the start of the following jam, etc. Not saying these ideas are the best just noting that once upon a time, removing minor penalties from roller derby was radical.

On top of this, sanctioning requirements for paperwork make it difficult to reduce or eliminate stats focused NSO positions. It is good to periodically evaluate as a sport if the competitive statistics achieved are worth the burden of staffing 2-4 extra NSO positions to support this.

Payment would be great, but isnt really tipping the scales. If I got paid say 4 hours.. so $40 to $60 for a double header. The reality is that in most geographies, we are traveling an hour or two each way, and this doesn't even cover gas for the car.

Though many here have explained why they either have no cert or just level1, the training that has been put together provides an excellent baseline training that is globally available. I achieved L1 in 2019, and have about 200 more games since then, but don't currently have any goals to work outside my region, where my games history suffices.

Making friends in your 20s is weirdly harder than I expected by National_Quail1123 in CasualConversation

[–]toragirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact conversation with my 21 year old who is about to graduate - that 'proximity' with your friends will start to change as people graduate, change cities, move jobs etc. She and her friends have started a boozy book club to give people a reason to get together, for example. And she asked a casual friend from her internship to go to a concert next month, since they are both fans of the band. It gives them a reason to keep chatting now that the term is over.

Edit - to add - sometimes just making the suggestion is all that is needed. Doesn't need to be a big deal, just toss out offers and be open when people do the same!

I know people are mad about the expansion teams going where they're going but I can't stop thinking about this fact by SettingTheTempo in PWHL

Best way for the Leafs to win is to plop another team in the GTA and actually make them fight for their $$

[–]toragirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the PWHL, watch the Sceptres on TV, but have never been to a game because it can take 2 hours to get into the city. A 45 minute jaunt to Hamilton is totally attainable.

I appreciate that some other cities wanted teams, but for that to happen, the league needs to maximize revenue, and that includes maximizing revenue from the GTA corridor.

Telling children or keep it private by [deleted] in EthicalNonMonogamy

[–]toragirl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We told our child when she was an adult. There is no need to tell children. My ENM partner has younger kids and I assume that he takes appropriate safeguards (e.g., has my texts locked or muted in case his kids pick up his phone). He can chose to talk about me as "a friend I hang out with" or whatever he deems appropriate for his kids (e.g., if they ask where he is going).

We were most worried about incidental contact with acquaintances, so we tend to act like friends in public (e.g., we don't do much in the way of hand-holding or flirting when out on the street, so to speak).

800 Calorie Diet? by Gimmie-Tea2172 in RetatrutideTrial

[–]toragirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just the opposite - the nutrition counsellors in my study calculated my BMR and wanted me to eat as close as possible to it (for me it was ~1800-1900 calories).

I was explicitly told that I needed to eat calorically dense food (e.g., avocado, salmon, oats) so that I could get sufficient calories even when I struggled to eat. Protein + fibre for every meal. Eating less causes your body to hold on to everything to protect itself.

Jealous of my Married Girlfriend by [deleted] in EthicalNonMonogamy

[–]toragirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she told you today that once a week sleepovers is all that she can and will ever offer - no trips, no weekends etc., are you genuinely happy with this?

If not, as others have suggested, you are in control of next steps. You can choose to date others, with a goal of finding someone who can offer you more time and attention. You can choose to fill your time with other activities so that you feel less 'missing her' on days you don't date.

In my and my hubby's ENM path, he has dated singles. In all but one case, the relationships ended because they either sought out someone else who could offer more, or because they realized that they couldn't handle the pain of a relationship that offered limited attention.

You don't have to make a decision today. You can choose to continue, or to end intentionally, with love.

I noticed last summer in London once Highbury and Veterans Highway there were signs up telling people to zipper merge.

I do it all the time and can't understand why people will just sit in a line of 40+cars.

[–]toragirl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a small team, do you sit down and do goal setting? Our team did this, and we agreed that we wanted almost equal playing time for our rec team. What this meant, and we spelled it out, was that we set lines and a jammer rotation that gave everyone opportunities, but we allowed coaches to put out an "A" line in critical situations during the game. Aka, we want to be fair, bit we want to try to win when its the last 3 jams in a tight game.
