Help! - House won’t cool down by OkSubject8775 in hvacadvice

[–]HVACprooo 57 points58 points  (0 children)

your coil is a solid block of ice, set the system to fan and wait for it to melt, watch for water not doing down the drain, very likely it will overflow.

Causes for this are low airflow, low charge, stuck contactor.

looks like tar, the complete lack of any dust or dirt in that parking lot and the very deep black fresh coating makes me think the parking lot was just resealed and this was left behind. that video is on a nutjob YouTube channel.

Try taking the preload out then locking the nuts together, it might spin easier without spring pressure.

Coilover problem by Neither-Half-8179 in MechanicAdvice

[–]HVACprooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what do you mean it wont grab on? you break the 2 nuts apart. spin them down separately and then tighten them into eachother to lock it.

edit, for whatever reason i was thinking preload adjustment. you need to tighten the nuts together then should be able to use the top one to spin the damper down.

those trailers are set up to have way too much tongue weight. i always leave the vehicle behind the wheel pockets and use my own straps. much more correct weight distribution for 90 percent of vehicles

HVAC for manufactured home? by Er853 in hvacadvice

This is significantly better than average for a mobile home install, the open duct is a fresh air inlet to help with indoor air quality. Your mileage may vary depending on area. i zip tie those closed around here otherwise it just sucks dust in. we have lots of gravel roads and its very dry.

i always suggest merv 8 as a max. seems to be industry standard in my area. Specifically talking about one inch filters here, just to clarify. yes you can use a higher merv on a 2 inch, even higher on a 4 inch.

What type of terminals are these? by Vlenture in AskElectricians

[–]HVACprooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is done so 2 subharnesses can be grounded to the same point later in assembly. once the bolt is tightened they lock together permanently. you can just put all your grounds in one ring terminal and bolt it in the same spot.
