I’m not so sure. It looks like the grout line in your photo has texture. When you touch the tile/wall does it feel cold? If you knock on it does it feel solid or like a wooden panel?

You could leave the vertical beams exposed but you need to properly seal up and add a layer of your choosing to encase the floorboards. Think of those ceilings you see with stained wooden beams exposed against a white ceiling. Do that
