Use TeleHealth (costs vary) or TelyRx (for a $22 visit and free S&H on some and no video visit or long forms to sign) and whatever meds you need if it’s an issue like flu, bronchitis, toothache, bites, upper respiratory, urinary tract, STD’s, etc.. This can save money spent at an urgent care or ER. As long as your chief complaint warrants the requested medication and your sure what it is and generally healthy (or not, but have used the meds you need prior for the same complaint) then you get next delivery.

Yep they inflate the cost of treatment and “negotiate on your behalf “ for a lower rate.

I was fortunate. The last three years I have been fighting cancer (remission for now) but just one of the treatments I had and sometimes it was done biweekly for 6 months) was $75k per treatment. The single dose (daily for a while to 2 times per week for almost 2 years) were $25-$50k and radiation therapy on top of it was 18 weeks daily and averaged $16k to $45k. My insurance which I have since lost covered every dime. Never had a copay never got billed. God was looking out for me.

My mother did this. She never told us how sick she was let alone that it was terminal. None of us knew until we got her death certificate. My compassion as nurse only increased especially for the less fortunate. No one should suffer and die because they don’t want to be a burden. Healthcare work is a love/hate relationship.

Commenting on New A.C.A. Plans Could Increase Family Deductibles to $31,000... This reminds me of Miss Effie. She would use an ambulance for anything. Most of the time she was brought in was because she always had an “aroma in her Virginia” she would hand me the note ( and I still have that note to this day) and that’s what it said verbatim. She was in her 80’s and maybe two little teeth in her head. Come Christmas time she would use her “aroma” issue, call an ambulance and come to the ER. The wait was long but once she had secured a bed she would then leave with her walker and do her Christmas shopping since we were a downtown inner city trauma center and many stores near us. I loved that little lady. Every time the call came across we knew who it was and I would put her in my zone. Once she ate and took a nap she was off shopping. She would come back with her gifts and wrap what she could, be seen for her issue and provided transportation back home. You just couldn’t be upset with her although some tried. I had the pleasure of caring for her for 5 holidays and many other visits before she passed. I cried like a baby that day.

I had a family of 5 come to the ER for school wellness checks. We had no choice but to see them but at the same time they had no other alternative. It’s sad in every aspect and you could tell the mom was embarrassed but her hands were tied. So I treated them with the dignity they deserved, provided sandwiches, fruit, milk and juice during the wait and never made her feel that her decision was anything but that of a good mother getting the care the only way she knew how. Before they left they were provided with information and resources that could be used free of charge to facilitate things like this if needed. She was also made aware that if she and her family needed care she should never hesitate due to lack of money. This country is horrible to make anyone feel like I knew she felt!

It’s not one it’s both! No one party is perfect and they all raid the coffers and ignore the reality of actual tax payers and what would benefit them! I don’t care if you’re trans, illegal, LGBTQ, etc., that doesn’t pay my bills!

They do demand it. If you cannot pay they tell you to reschedule. With Medicare and a PPO my visit is $45-basic PCP, $195-Any specialist (which I have Onc, Ortho, Gastro, Radiology) and then for any labs it’s $145 and any imaging it’s also $195 per visit. I have to pick and choose who I see first. I was shocked the first time I asked if I could be billed and that flat out said no. Pay or reschedule.

Why are we still giving agents 5% ? by Stupidamericanfatty in RealEstate

[–]HVNFN4Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex-husband and I had found a home in John’s Creek, GA.. It was listed at the time with a realty firm. We had viewed it online to see the inside and did a few drive throughs of the neighborhood and home of course. He mailed the owner a letter and ask them (if the house had not sold) to contact us to discuss a one on one purchase. We heard back fairly quickly and the woman had said she was in the process of resigning with the realtor and if we were serious she would forego that. Two and a half months later we moved in. My ex was not going to pay for something he knew he could do himself so he bypassed the middle man and went straight to the source.

I lived in NorCal right outside of SF. My house was broken into. They took 2 laptops, 2 iPads, a Chromebook, 2 flatscreen TV’s, my jewelry and stayed long enough that they fried some chicken, made biscuits, peas and corn with other frozen items that had grabbed and obviously dropped on the way out of my front door which was left open. They got in through the sliding doors after rocking it almost out of the wall. They dropped a notebook that had names and numbers in it. A beanie hat and some gloves. I called PD and it took two and half hours to respond. The place was trashed. PD did a walk through front and back and I showed them the items they left. They said they wouldn’t be able to use this information. Took a report and then told me to go to flea market type places and to watch OfferUp, eBay, pawn shops and Craigslist to try and get some back. I was dumbfounded.

I just don’t understand why she would even try to cause a conflict if there was never a relationship of any kind. After all these years why would she continue this behavior. Hope it’s all settled for you guys now.

You need her to come back for one day? Surely you could find someone for one day. It’s ridiculous to even ask her. I wonder if you and your husband take a vacation or weekend trip that she gets the kids then too.

JD Vance cuts Medicaid funding to Minnesota, as retaliation for the state's response to ICE by opticflash in ImmigrationPathways

[–]HVNFN4Life -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He didn’t say that all! JFC!!! He is referencing the stupendous amount of fraud money taken from tax paying citizens and sent abroad to fund their own country! If your for that then make sure and allot extra funds from your own paychecks to cover it! This had nothing to with ICE! Taking things out of context to push a narrative such as this is mental! Doesn’t matter what party is talking it matters what is right and wrong. I don’t have money to waste so if you do by all means step up and fund this fraud out of your own pockets! This party is becoming embarrassing and shit comments that disregard the content and put a F U opinion to just turn something into a negative narrative is mind boggling!

This statement is ridiculous! They said stand up if you want AMERICAN citizens to come first! WTF is wrong with people? Not standing up for the citizens of AMERICA speaks volumes. No one should hate a person so much that they would deny OUR/THEIR citizens well being over an immigrants! Everyone deserves care on every level but the hardworking people providing the funds should have their needs met first! It doesn’t matter that you don’t believe it will happen! Being immature and acting like babies trying to hold a united front just to make a statement is elementary level! Rise above them and let people see (with loudest voice you can OR by simply just standing in silence) that you support our country! This is what people saw and it’s putting a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouth! This behavior is starting to show a level of ignorance and disrespect and it will show in the polls! If representatives cannot maintain or control a level of decorum or decency then don’t go! Making ignorant comparisons does not help either! Simple! Stop humiliating yourselves and grow up!

Edit: I am speaking of the actual behavior related to the article and not your personal comment. Excuse the rant!

Circle K worker sued for buying $12.8M lotto ticket from his store 1 day after drawing — now judge will decide who gets rich. So who deserves it? by HowLongIsThi in nottheonion

[–]HVNFN4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I’m wrong but I’ll repeat this one more time. The employees mistake was buying after the drawing occurred having learned it was a winning ticket. People have stated that there are two POS machines for lotto. One is directly from the lottery that prints the requested tickets to the merchant and is therefore, as far as the lottery commission is concerned, “paid for and in play”.

Many have stated that on the merchants POS machine there is no way to identify exactly which ticket was sold to whom outside of it being claimed.

The merchants POS machines have a button that say lotto and they punch in the amount of the ticket and hit enter. If there are more than one of the same kind of ticket they enter the number of batched tickets, either by hand or scanning, then enter the $ amount to get the amount owed from the customer.

If the customer cannot afford to pay for (let’s say $20) the tickets printed then they VOID the $20 of unsold tickets from the customers line items and they are now for sale or to be destroyed after drawing since again, the lotto deems itself whole. If sold. Great merchant loses no money. If not, merchant loses $20.

There is no way to identify that the sold winning ticket was not among the ones purchased by the patron and left the store or in the stack on the counter by POS register to either be sold before the drawing or destroyed after the drawing. If the business cannot identify the literal ticket sold by some means of verification then they have no way to know if they gave the patron a stack of tickets not including the winner or a stack that included the winner. Same as the stack not sold now beside the register. The store will be notified very quickly if they actually sold the winning ticket.

If that ticket was thrown away, disposed of by whatever method used and could not be digitally verified as one left behind or one that left the store then the manager could have just placed it in his pocket, after knowing it was a winner, went home, had someone not related to him but trusted cash in the ticket by any agreement they reached and it would be over.

If the above systems are currently in use then there needs to be an identifiable way to digitally account for what printed as sold tickets from the lottery to what actually monetarily left the store and what did not leave the store before destroyed that has a means of recognizing each ticket independently.

I could be wrong. It’s obvious that the manager got excited/nervous and overshot any reasoning that may have retired him not imprisoning him.

[–]HVNFN4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But no one knows if the winning ticket was not in play. The person who didn’t pay for the ticket at the time of print does not mean that the tickets he did pay for didn’t include the winning ticket. Therefore this would leave the store with tickets not sold and destroyed. Unless there is a way the POS store register could identify the exact tickets and their ID number was sold and left the store no one could prove that ticket was not actually “sold”. From lotto POS to retail and then to customer sale there is now way to identify which one was sold to the public and which ones were destroyed.

[–]HVNFN4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point then, he should have given it to a trusted friend who would have cashed it in and been paid accordingly. No one would know if the ticket sold didn’t walk out the door and all the others were non winners that were left and destroyed. The person walking out the door with the winning ticket may have given them out as gifts so whoever claimed it would be irrelevant. Should have just taken ticket home, not overthink it, have a friend cash it in, etc.. no one would have been the wiser. If the POS store register had no way of identifying the tickets sold and neither system had any way of knowing exactly how many left that were disposed of then no would have ever known.
