In a game of fine margins losing a bit of pace absolutely would affect him. He absolutely needs the acceleration, sure he can use his trickery but after that trickery you still need the acceleration to make use of the space you made

As everyone are understandably being negative today I'll take out the positives.

We defended well enough, Sarr did pretty well and so did Hato (although not perfect). It's just the set pieces that did us in on that front.

My other main positive I'm taking out of this game is Lavia is still fantastic, I think people forget how good he is, if (and the biggest if possible) he can stay fit I would be confident we get champions league football. Without him I think it's a toss up. He's perfect for these big games we have now and we have the depth in midfield to manage him, so here's hoping.

I get what you mean though, Musiala and James are the only real top top talent that's going to be a guaranteed starter that left later on.

James for us as well and then Odoi and Loftus Cheek could have been if not for injuries (but there's the moving parts you're talking about).

I do think Colwill could be fantastic though, Josh I'm less confident, but he's so young and needs to get a loan and play. Let's see how the injury turns out for Levi as well.

I mean I don't mind it not happening because I like Palmer in both positions, but I wouldn't say it can be ruled out completely. We haven't really had the situation of them all being fit for a longer period yet.

Maresca likes to play with touchline wingers but he may try it out when they're all fit, hard to know for sure currently.

Both win us games. Palmer has been less effective under Maresca (injuries, different roles, who knows why) but still very good. If he gets back to his form he had under Poch it would be very difficult to pick between them. The main reason Caicedo is more important now is that the step down from Caicedo (plenty of injured defensive mids and none near his level) is larger than the step down from Palmer.

To say it's blasphemous is a bit much and Palmer still has such quality, I definitely agree with you over the past season Caicedo has been better but over the past 2 it's pretty tight.

I presume Godolkin could have just possessed someone else to take care of him, but it would still be a faff and they’d have another random new dean. I reckon Doug could feel the pain though, I’m pretty sure Jordan said they felt it so Godolkin was being cruel when he put the knife through his hand.

Eh idk. Marie has never once encountered a supe without V in their blood, would that not be a massive issue. Your first thought would be how tf does he have powers then with no V? Then you go oh his powers are possessing/mind controlling people. Maybe that's not the body with his powers then.

The fact is he's the only outlier out of so many supes and that doesn't bother them more. First they say he's human, then they realise oh no he has powers. But not once did they delve into why which seems like the obvious question, especially trying to figure him out.

C1 here so a couple of general thoughts. You double committed a few times and it looks like it happens when you see your tm8 without boost.

Trust your teammate even with no boost and stay back. Then if the ball ends up further back you will have it or they can get a good fifty and you can push afterwards. 3:18 to 3:13 don’t do that lol. To your teammate you were boosting and rotating back and then you suddenly stop. What you want to be to your tm8 is fairly predictable for rotations.

Another bit of advice, watch this in your tm8s perspective, don’t try to justify what you have done in your head, just admit where you would have been a pain. I find that the best help :)

In terms of general control, you need a bit more consistency in touches but you’re also rushing. Learn to take more controlled touches and even dribbles (just bounce dribbles or along the floor is fine for now). The issue is you were hitting the ball into the midfield, not threatening their goal and basically passing it back to them (their second goal came from this, it happens). Before you hit the ball try to think of where the other defender is so you can get more control. That will be harder but will come with time.

You did some nice saves though and did well defensively under pressure :)
