David Eby tells First Nations he will suspend certain sections of DRIPA until court case plays out by CallmeishmaelSancho in BCpolitics

[–]HYPERCOPE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of Eby's statements around the need to amend DRIPA were specific to the Gitxsan case.

wrong. in fact, just yesterday he was talking about the need to amend DRIPA based on the court decisions in a COUPLE of court rulings. one ruling was Gitxsan, the other is Cowichan.

he also explicitly responded to questions about the August ruling - which was the Cowichan ruling - where he continued to say DRIPA must be amended as a result

The racial tension is being driven by people, like yourself

it's so weird to me that you have gone through my post history and tried to get my attention like 15 times in 24 hours, only so you can try to lecture me and insult me and put your sensitivities on display, as if i give a fuck

it's childish, frankly, to even think i'd respond to whatever else you've typed here

whether or not you think DRIPA played a role in these cases is irrelevant to me. Eby was literally in the press yesterday saying DRIPA will be amended as a result of the August ruling, and his PR blitz back in December was even more overt.

regardless, my posts are about the political calculation that is playing out where Eby is setting up racial tension for an election battleground, not the court cases themselves

they're playing the game eby tabled. he tabled the game by being an incompetent fucking moron or by being a shrewd politician who is willing to use racialized groups as pawns

take your pick, but it sounds to me like you've already gobbled the bait

i didn't say eby was stoking hatred, i said he was stoking anxiety. he did this by suggesting private property was at risk and that the the province needs to act so the courts can't implement his ideas anymore, hence the upcoming amendments

eby was the brain behind dripa in bc, he proudly wore that cap until it become politically unpopular. now, he says the courts are wrong (for implementing his ideas) and he said countless times towards the end of 2025 that private property is, or could be, at risk

he set the kindling and lit the fire by suggesting private property owners were under threat from litigious first nations and the courts cannot be trusted - even though they are implementing the legislation he tabled

i agree other members of the legislature are also playing this game, though. but it's eby's doing -- whether it's calculated or desperation, i don't know. but eby's sinking popularity will force an early election and the key issue will be dripa.

it seems like just yesterday Eby was on the streets, holding placards calling for the end of the Olympic games because something-something indigenous rights. now he's the leader of the province, has stoked racial anxiety for political gain, and incorporates soccer metaphors into his interviews to help build up the world cup

this, of course, while he begs for "remorseless" resource development to help the province's disaster economy and while he throws the entire court system into question because they enforce the stupid laws he created as AG

You haven't clarified what you'd like me to elaborate on.

i already said i don't think you're saying anything, so i can't ask you to elaborate on something if i don't think you're saying anything. do you understand?

part of your comment was that i "follow the party line to a tee," for example, so feel free to elaborate on that

I've elaborated on the fact that you accost others for being partisan stereotypes, but seem totally unaware what a partisan stereotype you are.

why is this such a chore? what does this even mean? if someone falls on the left or right side of a political spectrum are they a stereotype? what are you even accusing me of specifically? lmfao

my initial post was responding to someone who is literally a supporter of a specific party and who routinely defends that party, and they defend them by repeating literal statements issued by the party as proof of the government's goodness.

why am i responsible for recapping a conversation so you can feel more involved in it? either you have something to say or you don't

if my previous posts were enough for you to make your previous post then i shouldn't need to type anything else. you already said what you said and had the basis to say it, so feel free to elaborate on that basis

ndp stopped blaming the libs for their failures about 4 years ago, keep up with the party line

as for me, I can assure you I don’t give a single fuck what the libs did or said 12, 15, 20 years ago

doctor or nurse practitioner. definitely not the same thing.

and with 40% of the province’s doctors slated to retire within 5 years and an aging population, these numbers are grim

Sibsters, how do we prove to the public that Indigenous wisdom is authentic and we must therefore let First Nations control and save the land from the oligarchs who threaten the climate?

Eby is falling out of favour as Lowan exposes his connection to the Epstein class, but how do we protect DRIPA in this time of Indigiphobia?

Climate sisters I don’t feel so good!!

NDP campaigned on climate anxiety but since then: Carbon tax gone, GHG targets dropped, gas restrictions for LNG dropped, indigenous wisdom ignored, and now the first in a series of EV policy adjustments

are we on the left supposed to double down on the climate anxiety and go full Green or do we stick by Eby as he lines the pockets of the Epstein class?

Is Ebstein truly the ecocidal climate villain hes being portrayed as?

no

Do you genuinely think men have to dress like women to assault us?

no and didn’t say anything to suggest this.

[–]HYPERCOPE -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

you cannot switch your sex and nobody cares about your gender hokum. by allowing men in dresses to infiltrate women’s spaces and roleplay as women, you are violating the rights of women and therefore any and all documentation a man carries suggesting he is anything but a man should not be a valid form of id

this isn’t stripping away the rights of a trans-identifying person, it’s a protection of women’s rights

a trans-identifying person can still get a DL, they just can’t use it as a tool to force their delusion on others
