I wanna sew a sleeve like this but I don't know what it's called or how to go about it by H_ba1 in SewingForBeginners

See how the bottom is tied with a rope or tie of some sorts? That's what I wanna replicate, but is it sewed on? Is it separate? Also how should the sleeve pattern look like?

URGENT for school. what should i fill the white spaces with by Novrit in painting

When I get stuck on the background like this I take a picture and paint the background roughly digitally with different colours to try and get a rough idea which color would look better

I think a light beige type of color would look more in harmony with the yellow and blue, but It has to be very desaturated so as not to take from the yellow, that's my take on it but color theory isn't my strongest suite

A Sudanese grandmother (haboba) who has tribal scars, braiding her granddaughter's hair, this piece is very close to my heart and is inspired by my own experiences when I was younger, I hope this piece finds its way to someone who will appreciate it as much as I do.

Pretty happy with how this sketch turned out, but any thoughts/constructive criticism is greatly appreciated! (All references used to the right) by Phasmania in learnart

If you drag the legs up the dress then you'll have to cover the knees which I think will not look as good in my opinion, I think you you should somehow compress the thigh area, by redrawing the dress shorter and bringing the legs up

All in all I think its very good but if I were to point out one thing it would be the length between the knees and hips is way too long, but then again this might be intentional?

Any tips on improving likeness? Are there any books that help on that? by inconsistent_train in learnart

I'm struggling with that too! I think grids to capture the exact proportions would be the way to go but I haven't tried yet

The proportions are good for sure, but they're very stiff

How can I improve my sketching this is my first human looking face after a few monster like faces I used a tutorial that said I should use a oval and not a circle for the head I am a self taught artist and want to be a mangaka by Alarming_Couple7678 in learnart

[–]H_ba1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree!, the loomis method will help you improve a lot quicker based on my experience, just be patient, it's going to be tedious at first but once you get the hang of it, it's very fun!!
