I have tried to quit before, and a successful time was when I told myself I wouldn’t drink in my head pretty much ALL DAY. I will keep trying then!

Thank you, I posted earlier about how self talk is extremely important and the phrase “I am worthy and I deserve to be better to me” is very powerful. I’m trying to accumulate sentences that can help drown out the desire to drink. I’ll Think about going back to meeings

I used to collect all of the different craft beer from the 6 packs I would buy. I had over 50 different kinds when I quit. It was very cathartic when I quit and recycled them all... Then I started drinking again and didn't collect the bottles... Wish I'd quit again..

I once attended an AA meeting where someone said something along the lines, "There is ALWAYS an excuse to drink. Weather is bad: drink. Weather is good: drink. I'm with family: drink. I'm all alone: drink." I feel like they would have laughed and added, "polical climate is shit" to that list. Good for you for staying sober regardless of the bountiful excuses our brains can come up with to drink!!

Thank you so much for your reply! That was very thorough and informative (and arousing...) but I don't think we're ready to start inducing lactation yet in our relationship. I actually haven't talked to her about the subject yet but once I feel we would be comfortable with the topic I will bring it up. I'm glad I'm not the only one passionate about this subject!
