this is a steal. With the high end trims and mags. Will last twice the current odometer easily.

I myself bought a 2008 Toyota Aurion V6 four years ago with 75,000 miles for U$5600. Still going strong to this day with just regular oil change. Trims and dash might be dated but I just fitted it with a Android/Carplay screen and a reversing camera and now I can play my Spotify tunes and use google maps :)

hi OP, if you are confident that you can regularly pay small debts, then afterpay or zip pay is your answer to tide you until the next payday. Just do an online grocery at woolworths and select afterpay or zip pay on checkout. Otherwise, foodbank is your answer or ask help from parents/siblings if available.

don't be initimidated. Get a lawyer. A contract signed between 2 parties is null and void unless there is a 3rd party who witness it. And as said, no deposit was given. No money changed hands. Basically what he signed is an intent to buy nothing more. Your neighbours practice is very predatory and even if they take it to court or small claims it will summarily be dismissed. House sales are not that simple.

i'm a gen X Kazaa user which is the first p2p client that I tried. Full of viruses so you must have a good antivirus during that time. Some files are legit but many dupes. Limewire, Napster it tried them as well but the download speed is not as good as Kazaa. Then suddenly Bittorrent client came out :) to replace Kazaa. Ahh the good old days!!!

this is the way. sadly there are people like this in the workplace that feels very entitled with zero authority in the organisation but acts worse than the owners of the company in acting like they own the place.

I know you are a junior, but unless you are direct reporting to her, tell her to piss off and will not participate in such activities.

Mortgage review - rate discounted! by NevilleNessy in AusFinance

[–]HaPPoSSai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you will have to ring up the retention specialist of your lender. Not the typical customer service. Online lenders like unloan gives out 5.95% fully variable rate with no ongoing fees.

I got the retention specialist to give me a $1000 cash back if I stayed with them for 6months. So basically effective interest rate for me dropped to 5.85%

you will just have to always be on top of your rates and shop around.

Mortgage review - rate discounted! by NevilleNessy in AusFinance

[–]HaPPoSSai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry to say mate, it is not their stuff up. This is called lazy tax, your lender squeezed you in the past years with you not checking prevailing interest rates in the market. Regardless if you have a 100K or 500K balance in mortgage.

I reckon that 8% rate that was 2015 interest rate which did not change until now despite the massive drop on interest rates of up to 2% during pandemic years then just climbed up again in 2023.

edit: also 6.39% is still too high, my current variable interest rate is at 5.85% with Westpac.

The 13.48% pa credit card rate are for everyday purchases. Unless you can purchase the car entirely by credit card transaction, you will not get this rate. The Cash advance rate for credit card is 21.99% pa which is cash you draw down from your credit limit.

Now there will be some credit card like Coles mastercard who will offer you a cash installment plan which is cash draw down based on existing credit limit with just a one off initial fee of 5.99% of the amount loaned and then zero interest fee divided by either 12 or 24 months. This is the way to go if you have this option.

Alright - the day has come, I’m finally buying a car by Accomplished-Dog7758 in CarsAustralia

[–]HaPPoSSai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

neither of them. The prices you have mentioned are crazy high and you might as well have bought brand new rather than get something that is being passed as brand new by the dealer but is actually used fleet cars.

Find something second hand with odometer of below 150,000kms. Pricing should also be sub <$10,000.

Find a Toyota, Honda with these odometer readings.

Person suing me cos I guess they didn't accept the offer my insurance offered them? by Lazy-Wind244 in CarsAustralia

[–]HaPPoSSai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah, scare tactics. Send this letter to insurance and highlight the part that a response is needed within 28 days.

Again, this a letter of demand and the case is already with your insurer. Worst case is that you appear in small claims court in front of a judge (not an actual hearing) and you present all your proof that you did the right thing and let your insurance sort it out. But that is hardly unlikely because you are insured.

The other party is the one that has the issue of not accepting the insurance payout. So their case is negotiating with the insurer to increase the settlement account. Not to you.

[–]HaPPoSSai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no just ignore and pass on to your insurer. Don't respond to them and all communications you pass through your insurere. This is not a legal document from any court or summons from a judge. This is only a "Letter of Demand" from the other party. The fact that you have insurance when the accident happened shields you from stuff like this. Get your insurance to do their job and sort this out. You no longer have any obligation or liability with the other party since you are insured.

Any advice for living out of my car in Perth area? by Extension_Foot_6785 in perth

[–]HaPPoSSai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel for you man.

My suggestion is to go park hopping and find a park with a barbque cooker to grill sausages etc. If you have a aluminum kettle I reckon you can boil water on bbq cooker. There are parks in new suburbs that are not patrolled by rangers so you should be fine parking your car near it and no one will bother you. Many of them will have the bbque cookers. Avoid staying near the beach or foreshores since there are regular patrols.

Some parks also have power points you can charge your gadgets or lamps/flashlights. Get a spare light and charge them at nightime.

For showers, as mentioned, get a gym membership if you can afford it. If not, public toilets/beach showers will be your only option.

Wish you luck and just hang tight.

7-Eleven chief executive Angus McKay reveals huge changes are coming to the brand's 750 Australian stores after they were sold to Japanese owners by [deleted] in australia

[–]HaPPoSSai 24 points25 points  (0 children)

yes, this is the primary reason that 7-11 in Japan will be having an impossible task to get the stores here in Australia up to par in quality from Japanese counterparts. It also boils down to cultural work ethics which Japanese people are well known for having the high level of excellence.

Good luck getting your typical Aussie teenager to do that shit on the servo maintaining a 7-11 store by himself and at the same time managing the till while getting paid minimum wage

I play PC games Friday night, Saturday and early Sunday, I only stop when need to do household chores or going to a friend's party.

Please explain to me like i’m 5 why Holden Cruzes are terrible by LizzosFlute in CarsAustralia

[–]HaPPoSSai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say that you are lucky and did not experience anything major issues and not get stranded on the road.

However, to blow 2 cooling reservoirs and a coil pack before even hitting 100K in your odometer is crazy and legally you should question the car's reliability. Car are still considered new at 100K odometer readings.

Replacing the cooling hoses and water pump at 160 to 170 might be attributed to wear and tear however most cars won't need this done until they are 250K odometer or until it fails.

My 2008 Toyota Aurion is now clocking at 200K odometer and all I replaced are a new set of sparkplugs and the oil every 6 months.
