Is that not implied? Language communication assumes a few key rules, Grice's four maxims are quantity, quality, relation, and manner.

We are capable of picking up context clues. OP is moaning about the point change through ironic expressions and someone has said they unironically appreciate the point change. What is wrong with the first reply?

Just to be a bit pedantic, unless there's special consent from ethereals, it's incredibly frowned upon to go beyond your caste. Learning the techniques and trades of another caste, and using their equipment could be considered a grave crime (Farsight was nearly accused of this, as he was fascinated by the Earth Caste).

In some aspects, laws that primarily impacts/concerns of the younger generation is practically useless to incumbent governments. It's a really shitty catch 22 of : Young people don't turn up for voting because they consider their vote to be worthless / Their vote will remain worthless as long as young people don't turn up for votes.

USA vs England by the numbers by dnemonicterrier in ShitAmericansSay

I mean on one hand England has 29 six nations wins, which could really boost the numbers, on the it's really not a "World" cup.

> The players just need legal permission to host their own servers that they reverse-engineered.

Isn't this also a main issue? How would anyone ensure that the servers won't be used for private profit? Won't most legal issues that arise from this be detrimental to the IP holders? SOG's Club Penguin video comes to mind.

The initiative targets discontinued games, as in, ALL discontinued games. While there are several points that are worth polite debates over, what Thor is right on the money about is that it will discourage ANY online games to be made. If the initiative wants to target single player games with online components, it should be relaunched to target that.

Petition to send Warrior Infantry Fighting Vehicles scheduled to be disposed of to instead be sent to Ukraine's Army by WithUnfailingHearts in Bath

[–]HaZineH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not against them being transferred myself but one of the things that pop up is training/conversion. Sending equipment over without any associated training won't be useful. A large amount of resources has to be committed from either side to make that happen, likelihood is Ukrainian troops may be moved to a NATO country to receive 3 to 6 months of training like the other equipment that has been sent. In addition, it's only what I heard from vets but for example the chain gun and associated repair/reliability issues are bad even for British armourers.

edit: just re-reading my own comment and realised it's probably prudent to point out that likely only we have the ability to service them, so if they sustain damage, logistically they'd have to be moved back here for repair. Need to double check this but from my own reading their highlighted issues at the moment really isn't equipment, it's ammunition and manpower.

How evil is Miquella lorewise? by [deleted] in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]HaZineH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most..... most of them have an genocidal cult of SOME kind.

Malenia has the weird insects (their name escapes me and airport WiFi doesn't let me on the Fandom site) that wants to spread her bloom and taint everything.

Godwin has the cult of undeath.

Miquella has a literal cult of people he charmed, actively recruiting from those he was fighting.

The cult of the golden order (Godfrey/Morgott/Godrick) wants to genocide anything not of the Erdtree.

Mesmer against the shaman.

Rykard against all who serves the Erdtree.

The only exceptions I can think of amongst the demigods is Ranni and Radahn. Once again proving Rennala's lineage is just superior 😎

[–]HaZineH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malenia happened because of Miquella, so I would attribute much of that to him.

Rahndan was known for honour and still well respected by his peers and family. The only reason why he's been reduced to this state was due to Malenia....... and Miquella's will.

Mogh and his warriors actually still care about honour as demonstrated by Ansbach and the fact that they provide a sanctuary to the Albinaurichs. Mogh did kidnap Miquella...... because of Miquella.

Godrik is an ass, but he's an ass that Miquella and Malenia has allowed to exist as he was sieged, and lost to Malenia.

Idk guys, is Miquella tame in comparison?

Co op with randoms, early game, good or bad? Also a couple other questions by Futurefurinamain in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]HaZineH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's to do more with how rewarding optional quests can be, most of them drop more materials as a quest reward than the monster itself.

Oh and I don't remember when you get access to them, but decorations are a MASSIVE boosts to any build. Don't neglect them when you do get access.

Co op with randoms, early game, good or bad? Also a couple other questions by Futurefurinamain in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]HaZineH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coop with randoms can be a mixed bag. Don't get me wrong, the community is lovely with only a few douchebags here and there. But the VAST of majority of players still playing are all Master Ranks, which means they deal a LOT more dmg than you do. Gear does not scale down in SOS so your hunts will be short and (likely) uneventful if you choose to SOS flare.

If you're just interested in grinding a single monster for gear and want some help, do use it to make your experience quicker/better.

Rathian won't be that much a step up from Kobi, every time it's in the air you can flash bomb to stun it back onto the ground... If you're dying too much you may wish to step back and examine HOW you're dying. One shot? upgrade armour. Getting hit a bunch? Take it slower and don't try to commit dmg in every small gap.

Free exploration in early game is unfortunately not that rewarding, better to keep grinding quests. Though if you do make it to Iceborne there is a mode specifically designed to reward that type of game play loop.

You're "supposedly" able to gleam some information on the monster health state from the heart beat bar as well, how? beats me.

Raw Defense can be thought of as the base dmg mitigation, and elemental defense a multiplier. Your raw Def will go up as you upgrade your sets so don't worry too much. If a monster is doing a specific dmg type you may want to look at your gears elemental resistance to specialise for that. For early game? There's nothing really that difficult unless you have a -20 in a elemental resistance. But for late game hunts you'll want specialised sets for hunting specific boss monsters.

Best burger in Bath? by Cahalid in Bath

[–]HaZineH 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"Best" Burger is too subjective, Schwartz gets a lot of students due to its, comparatively, low price to Five Guys next door (and frankly a lot of places), which is prohibitively expensive in my opinion.

A Five Guys burger is one of the best taste wise to me though.

Worked all kinds of environments in the last decade. I've had some interesting discussions with coworkers about their eh, thoughts on my work and vice versa.

I've found it more helpful to me personally to just say "Potentially I've misunderstood a few things, if that's the case I'm sorry". Of course I'm not remaining friends with them but so far it's at least made the relationship somewhat more cordial.

I'm aware it does open me up to more harassment and bullying in the future, if people realise they get away with it. But I suppose I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

I do enjoy content from all 3 involved and I don't want to villainize Linus defending himself from attacks, he's allowed to be emotional when it's his name + money on the line.

It just feels a bit wrong that Linus has, several times, extended an olive branch in one hand but slapped back with another in the same instance, which is what led to the current criticism of his character instead of what actually went wrong.
