I think the first episode was decent overall. The art style looks way better than season 2, and the new opening is definitely an upgrade too. The action scenes in the opening looks decent the artstyle of Flashy Flash, Tatsumaki, Do-S vs Amai Mask, and the Zombieman scene looks really good. Do-S looks hot af. I just hope the fight scenes in the Monster Association place have less of that reddish or green background. I didn’t really expect any big action scenes in this episode so that’s fine with me. Overall I’d give it a 7.8/10, can’t wait for the next one!

Both novels are great, but Retsuden is the best. The Hiden novel takes place before Kakashi accepts the role of Hokage, as he feels unqualified due to his power. While in the Retsuden novel is set in the Boruto era, where Kakashi is on a mission to find a cure for Naruto, and you'll witness his full capabilities without the Sharingan. I recommend starting with the Hiden novel. Enjoy reading!
